3 About us White November International Contracting (WNIC) work with international contractors across the EU/EEA and help each contractor to get better retention rates for the contracts they are working on, whilst being wholly compliant in their country of operation. White November International Contracting head office is based in Malta. Malta has an extremely attractive tax refund system approved by the EU. Local company, financial, and tax legislation are founded on UK law. 4 What to do when you first come to France Residency registration If you are an EU/EAA Citizen or Swiss national, when you arrive in France you will need visit your local town hall within three months of being the country. You will need to take with you your valid passport or ID. Whilst you are at the office you will receive a registration certificate (attestation d enregistrement). This is a mandatory requirement and failure to register yourself within the three months will result in you receiving a fine. Health Insurance At the beginning of 2016 there was major transformation within the French health insurance sector. It has been replaced by the Protection Maladie Universelle (PUMA) which grants both local and foreign residents a full health service. As you are employed you will automatically registered with the health insurance and will be able to receive healthcare benefits. European Health Insurance Card If you are a EU/EEA or Swiss national it is strongly recommended that you apply for a European Health Insurance Card which you will be able to receive free healthcare in any European country as well as France. If you would like to apply for a card, you can by going on The card will then be delivered to your home address of where you reside. If you are a non-eu citizen it is highly advised that you seek private health insurance to ensure that you are fully covered whilst working in France. 4 4

5 Public Transport France has a dense network of efficient and reasonable public transport throughout the country. Public transport services include bus services, train services, Metro services for the larger cities such as Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Lille and Toulous and light tram lines than run throughout the cities of Bordeaux, Grenoble, Lille, Lyon, Nancy, Nantes, Nice, Reims, Rouen and Strasbourg, as well lines that run though some of the greater Paris areas. Navigo Decouverte Card pass for Metro and Train services Paris If you will be commuting regularly from Paris, it is advised to obtain a Nagvigo card. The Navigo card is a cost effective contactless smart card which allows you to use the train and metro services in all 5 zones without any extra cost. You can also use the card to go to the airport. You can purchase either a weekly pass or a monthly pass. You must purchase the card on a Friday morning if you wish to have a weekly pass and if you would like a monthly pass is valid from 20th of each month. You can buy a pass at any train or metro station. Do note that you must take a passport size photograph of yourself each time you apply for the card. The fee for a weekly ticket is and for a monthly ticket is Trains The trains line services are run by SNCF which is ran by the state. There is vast network of lines throughout France from the larger cities to the smaller towns and cities. The network also run across boarder so there may be a chance of being able to commute from you home country. Railway fares are cheaper than you average EU country which make the train one of the main public transports in France. You can purchase your tickets from any train station (if you don t have the Navigo Decouverte Card). 5

6 Metro services As mentioned above metro service is ran in the larger cities Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Lille and Toulous. The metro services are a fast and economical way of getting around the cities, with services running throughout the day more regularly during peak times. You can find routes and plan your journey by clicking on. Paris RER Train Service The Parisian RER express train service is a faster mode of transport with fewer stops. The train network has 5 lines and 5 different zones which connect to Paris city centre and to the neighbouring suburbs in a fast and efficient way. The services run on a scheduled time table from until throughout the day. You can purchase single tickets (Billet Ilede-France) from any vending machine in RER train station or metro station. You can plan your journey on. Bus Service The bus services in France have a large network of efficient and reliable routes from the main cities and towns to the more rural areas. There are different bus operators in every city, you can plan your journey on. Fares are relatively cheap you can either purchase a single ticket or a weekly pass from any bus station. 6 6

7 Here are a few links to help you with your property search Accommodation As in most European capital cities renting a property is hard to find as well as extremely expensive for the property you get, France is no exception even in the larger cities it may prove difficult to find an affordable furnished property. It is suggested to use an estate agent (un agent immobilier) to help you find a property. When you do find, a suitable property you will need to provide certain documents such as: Valid passport/id Employment contract Last three pay slips from your employer Reference (if applicable) When you agree with the landlord or estate agent that you wish to rent the property make sure there is a written contract and make sure you fully understand what is written before signing. If you will be renting a furnished property make sure there is an inventory of all the items in the apartment to avoid any future problems. 7 7

Many competitors were offering opaque solutions which were not tax compliant for the contractors and reputationally risky for agencies and end clients. We noticed a market gap for a high end provider to provide compliant solutions that are tax efficient and offer long term orientated options and strategies to contractors. Following much demand and success, White November s International Contracting (WNIC) became a permanent division within the group. While initially only serving the top 5% of earners within the Scandinavian contracting market, WNIC has expanded to provide solutions in ten European jurisdictions and now offers both solutions for contractors at all levels of remuneration.
