3 What this guide does: This guide will help you to quickly configure and set up the zclock 30N, and will briefly summarize the steps to record and play back videos. Beforee you get started pleasee ensure required items at hand. you have the following The zclock 30N unit The included Remote with batteries The A/V cable adapter An SDHC memory card A TV or computer with a memory card reader A digital copy of this manual can be downloaded at the Zetronix support site:

4 I Motion activat ed video capture. This device records on motion activation by default. 1. Ensure the memory card is installed in the unit. 2. Plug in the unit to your A/C wall outlet. And ensure the power switch is to the ON position ( ) The device should now record automatically anytime there s motion. It willl continue to record for at least 15 seconds unless motion is still present. II Continuous recording. This device can record for as long as there s space left in the memory card. 1. Ensure the memory card is installed in the unit. 2. Plug in the unit to your A/C wall outlet, and ensure the power switch is ON. 3. Point the remote at the unit, and press thee record ( ) button. To pause the recording, press the record ( III Playing recorded video on ) button on the remote again. the computer. Your computer must have a memory card reader. 1. Remove the memory card form the unit and insert itt in your computer s SD card reader. 2. After about 15 seconds your computer should detect a new removable disk drive. On a Mac you will see a new drive on your desktop. On the PC you may get a popupp window with options to import, playback videos or open video files folder. If not check under Computer or My Computer from the start menu, and look for a removable disk drive. Look for video files in this drive.

5 IV Setup menu & live video footage. 1. Ensure the device is connected to you re A/C outlet, and it is powered on. 2. Connect the included A/V cable to the sidee of the unit, and the other end (Yellow Red) to your TV. 3. Using your TV s remote locate a button to select the input source you ve connected the A/V cable to. It is usually named Source or Input (check your TV s user manual). Once the correct source is selected on your TV, you should seee the camera view with a live footage come up on your TV screen: :

6 1 Time Display: System Date and Time. 2 Video Indicator: Displays a rotating icon when recording is activated. 3 Video Status: Indicates the method of video recording. Manual Recording Schedule Continuou s Recording Motion Detection Recording Schedule Alarm Recording Continuous, Alarm and Motion Detection Recording 4 Camera status: Indicates external camera connection. 5 Video recording resolution: 640x480 or 320x240 6 Recording quality HQ: High quality MQ: Medium quality LQ: Low quality 7 Audio recording (ON/OFF) 8 SD Card Status: SD Card has not been inserted or malfunctioned. SD Card is functioning normally. Memory is full. Overwrite protect: check micro switch on the memory card. Reading or writing to SD Card. 9 Loop recoding: this function is not availablee on this model.

7 V Playing recorded video on the TV. Please follow the steps in the previous section (IV Setup menu & live footage) and make sure you can see the live video before continuing with this section. 1. Point the included remote control at the zclock 30N device and press the Play/Pause button on to the top left corner of the remote. This will playback the last recorded video. Pause Recording: press the Play/Pause button again. Fast forward or rewind: press the left and right arrow buttons. Frame by frame playback: first pause the video then use the left and right arrows to go forward or backwards frame by frame. VI Advanced setup menu. Please follow the steps in the previous section (IV Device menu & live footage) and make sure you can see the live video before continuing with this section. Point the included remote control at the zclock 30N device and press the MENU/OK button.. The MAIN MENU should come up on your TV screen:

8 Available on this menu is the ability to set up time/date stamp, motion detection, schedule recordings, clean the memory space and other more advanced functions. Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the remote to select different items on the list. Press the button to access each of the submenu screens Press the previous/stop button and to go back up a menu or to cancel.

9 VII Advanced playback. Please follow the steps to access the setup menu in section IV. Select [ SEARCH AND PLAY ] from the MAIN MENU. User the arrow keys on the remote to select the date of recording or the page of video files witch is represented with different icons according the video recording mode; Manual Recording Schedule Continuous Recording Motion Detection Recording Schedule Alarm Recording Continuous, Alarm and Motion Detection Recording Press to select and play the video or SEARCH AND PLAY menu. to go back to the

10 VIII Video Date Time stamp setting up. Please follow the steps to access the setup menu in section IV. Select [ SET DATE /TIME ] from the MAIN MENU. Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the remote to select the different time and date items on the menu. And use the LEFT and RIGHT buttons to change their values. Press to go back to the MAIN MENU.

11 IX Advanc ced motion detectio on settings. Please follow the steps to access the setup menu in section IV. Select [ SET MOTION DETECT ] from the MAIN MENU. The zclock 30N allows you to choose a specific area of the screen where motion will or will not trigger video recording On this next menu screen select [ S to go the MD AREA screen. SET MD AREA ] and the en press button On the MD AREA menu, you can draw the area of the screen to become motion sensitive. Press play/pause button to change in between drawing modes and use the arrow buttons to move the tile cursor into the desired position;

12 CELL EDIT: Press button to add or remove the area tiles. ADD BLOCK / DELETE BLOCK: Press button to start and area block, move the cursor with the arrow buttons and then press again to finish the block selection. ADD ALL / DELETE ALL: Press area. to select or clear all motion sensitive

13 X Scheduled recording. Please follow the steps to access the setup menu in section IV. Select [ SCHEDULE RECORD ] from the MAIN MENU. Using the arrow keys on the remote move to one of the 24 hours on the menu and press the to choose switch in between methods of recording you want for that particular hour. Records for that entire hour Records only when it detects motion within that hour Records only if an alarm is set to go off within that hour Alarm and Motion Detection Recording Does not record during that hour

14 XI Memory card management. Please follow the steps to access the setup menu in section IV. Select [ SD CARD OPTIONS ] from the main menu. The SD CARD OPTIONS menu shows the total memory card size with the amount of memory left: MAX FILE SIZE: Specifies the file size segments. 300 seconds (5 min) recommended. CRD FULL: This function is not available on this model. FORMAT: Select this option to clean up all the memory space on the memory card. WARNING: all recorded video files will be deleted. Memory card size 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB Continuous recording time 5 hours 10 hours 20 hours 40 hours 80 hours

15 XII Language Settings & Video output format. Select [ POWER ON SETUP ] from the MAIN MENU. Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys on the remote to highlight the LANGUAGE or COMPOSITE items, then use press LEFT/RIGHT to change the language values or to change video composite values from NTSC or PAL. WARNING: Do not change these settings unless you have a PAL video display available.

16 XIII Video & Audio recording modes Select [ MANUAL RECORD ] from the MAIN MENU. Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys on the remote to select the items on the list, then use press LEFT/RIGHT to change the respected values. VIDEO SIZE / FRAME RATE: 640 by 480 pixel resolution at 12 frames per second or320 by 240 pixel resolution at 15 frames per second. QUALITY: sets the video compression rate. HIGH is recommended. AUDIO: option to record or not record audio. Note: Each of the video recording modes (Continuous, scheduled, alarm & motion detect) all each have an independent Video/Audio recording format mode.
