1 Operation of your PROZONE Ozone Generator The PROZONE PZ7 system works when air is drawn across a high-energy vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) arc tube, converting some air into ozone. The bypass venturi system redirects a portion of your water after the circulation pump (highest pressure point), around your filters, heaters, etc., and through a PROZONE 684 Venturi Injector before returning back to your main plumbing. The PROZONE PZ7 is operated automatically by wiring the unit directly to your circulation pump. A 1/4 in (8 mm) Check Valve is employed to prevent water back flow to the Ozone Generator in the event of a system failure. For best performance, it is recommended the system run a minimum of 8-12 hours per day. For best water quality, 24 hour circulation/ozonation is recommended. Start-up 1. Backwash the filter NOTICE Multiple backwashes may be required during the start-up period (up to 5 days). Monitor filter closely. 2. Brush pool NOTICE Brush pool regularly. This will help prevent algae, spore, etc from attaching to the pool wall and thus will be run through the Ozonation process. 3. Balance Pool Water ph Value 7.2 to 7.6. NOTICE Ozone is ph neutral and will not cause ph value of the water to fluctuate. Chlorine 0.5 ppm to 1.0 ppm Shock Calcium Hypochlorite (CaCl) or Sodium Hypochlorite (NaCl) is recommended. NOTICE The use of other chemicals, in most cases, is not usually required and may cause a clouding effect in the pool because of the reaction with ozone. Do not use lithium based shocks. Cyanuric Acid ppm NOTICE Cyanuric acid will help stabilize chlorine levels, particularly in outdoor installations. 4. Run the circulation system for hrs before reverting to your normal cycle.

2 14. Connect 1/4 in (8mm) Polybraid Hose (Item G) to Venturi Injector (Item B) and fasten with 1/2 in (15 mm) Black Plastic Clamp (Item K). See below. 15. Your PROZONE PZ7 is now ready to be plugged in (or hard wired) and is ready for use.

3 9. Attach 3/4 in (20 mm) Clear Vinyl Tubing (Item H) to Injector (Item B) and 1/2 in x 3 in (15 mm x 80 mm) PVC Hose Fitting and fasten both with 1-1/4 in (32 mm) Metal Hose Clamps (Item L). 10. Turn pump ON. 11. Mount the PZ7 Ozone Generator to wall or surface as necessary. Unit orientation will not affect performance. 12. Cut 1/4 in (8mm) Polybraid Hose (Item G) in half and reconnect with 1/4 in x 1/4 in (8 mm x 8mm) Kynar Check Valve, fasten with 1/2 in (15 mm) Black Plastic Clamps (Item K). See photo. NOTICE Orient the Check Valve so that air flows from the PZ7 Ozone Generator to the injector. Blow through the check valve to determine direction of flow. 13. Connect 1/4 in (8 mm) Polybraid Hose (Item G) to 1/4 in (8mm) Barb on the PZ7 and fasten with 1/2 in (15 mm) Black Plastic Clamp (Item K).

4 Assemble: 1. 1/2 in x 3 in (15mm x 80 mm) PVC fitting, 2. Grommet (Note direction), 3. Saddle clamp Top and Bottom to form second Saddle Clamp Assembly. 2 inch (50 mm) Saddle Assembly, Bypass Outlet 8. Re-mount Saddle Clamp Assembly on both the Entrance and the Exit bypass locations. CAUTION When screwing the clamps together, be sure not to over tighten as clamps may crack. It is best to use Phillips Head Screwdriver, not a Power Drill.

5 Assemble: 1. 1/2 x 3 in (15 mm x 80 mm) PVC fitting, 2. Grommet (Note direction), /2 in (40 mm) Adapter 4. Saddle Clamp Top and Bottom to form second saddle clamp assembly. 1-1/2 inch (40 mm) Saddle Assembly, Bypass Outlet 7. For 2 inch (50 mm) return line (See photos below) Assemble 1. Injector (Note direction), 2. Grommet (Note direction), 3.Saddle Top and Bottom to form Saddle Clamp Assembly. 2 inch (50 mm) Saddle Assembly, Bypass Inlet

6 CAUTION Do not drill too deep to avoid penetrating the opposite side in the plumbing. 5. Repeat steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 for exit of the bypass. Remove both Saddle Clamp Tees. CAUTION The bypass exit should always be after the heater. Damage to the heater may occur if the outlet of the bypass is installed prior to the heater. 6. For 1-1/2 (40 mm) return line (See photos below) Assemble: 1. Injector (Note direction), 2. Grommet (Note direction), /2 in (40 mm) Adapter 4. 7 Installation of your PROZONE Ozone Generator NOTICE The instructions in this manual provide a general installation guides, please consult your dealer for specific instructions. Additional information can be found at NOTICE If your filtration system uses a Diatomaceous Earth (DE Filter), it is necessary to install a Ball Valve (not included) between the entrance and exit of the bypass system (entire installation is moved after filter). The valve will have to be adjusted to ensure adequate flow through the bypass. Turn pump OFF. 2. Locate section of existing plumbing in which you choose to install the entrance leg of the bypass. Location should be in any accessible area after the pump and before the filter. 3. Install Saddle Clamp Tee (Item C and E, see photo below) without Grommet (Item J) and Venturi Injector (Item B). NOTICE This will be used as a guide for your installation hole. 4. Drill 7/8 in (22 mm) hole using power drill.

Check Electrical system: 120 VAC single switched 230/240 VAC double switched per NEC Standard or as specified by local codes 2. Check for all leaks in existing plumbing and correct where necessary. 3. Ensure you have the proper tools (see list, next page) NOTICE Install at least 5 feet (2 meters) from the inside wall of the tub or pool using nonmetallic plumbing. The ozone generator is to be located 1 foot (30 cm) above the maximum water level to prevent water from contacting the electrical equipment.
