1 ICT Professional Optional Programmes Skills Team are a Microsoft Academy with new training rooms and IT labs in our purpose built training centre in Ealing, West London. We offer a range of year-long qualifications leading to MTA s and MCSA certification. In addition we offer a range of short courses designed to meet specific business and technology needs, these currently include: Windows PowerShell version 2.0 / days This five day instructor-led course is intended for IT Professionals already experienced in general Windows Server and Windows Client administration or already experienced in administering and supporting Application servers and services including applications like Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL. It is broadly intended for students who want to use Windows PowerShell to automate administrative tasks from the command line, using any Microsoft or independent software vendor (ISV) product that supports Windows PowerShell manageability. Windows 7 Exam days This five day instructor-led course is intended for IT professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge base and technical skills about Windows 7 deployment and configuration. In this course, students learn how to install, upgrade, and migrate to Windows 7. Students then configure Windows 7 for network connectivity, security, maintenance, and mobile computing. This course helps students prepare for the Exam Windows 8 Exam days This five day instructor-led course is intended for IT professionals who are interested in deploying, configuring and supporting Windows 8 computers, devices, users and associated network and security resources. The networks with which these professionals typically work are configured as a single domainbased or peer-to-peer environment with access to the Internet and cloud services. The IT professional could be a consultant, full-time desktop support technician, or an IT generalist who administers Windows 8-based computers and devices as a portion of their broader technical responsibilities. 2 Windows Powershell ICT Professional OPTIONAL PROGRAMMES Version 2.0 / Days Course Description This course is designed to offer you the knowledge and helps you develop the core skills needed to use Windows PowerShell to automate administrative tasks. The course describes core features and capabilities of Windows PowerShell and uses Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012 for examples and labs, but the skills taught in this course are applicable to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and later, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and later, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 and later, and other products that use Windows PowerShell. This course does not focus primarily on scripting or programming, although it does include lessons that feature basic scripting tasks. The course focuses mainly on using Windows PowerShell as an interactive command line interface. Major Windows PowerShell feature include remoting, background jobs, scheduled jobs, the pipeline, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and Common Information Model (CIM), output formatting, output conversion, and exporting. Audience This course is intended for students who want to use Windows PowerShell to automate administrative tasks from the command line, using product that supports Windows PowerShell manageability. This course is not intended to be a scripting or programming course, and includes only basic coverage of scripting and programming topics. Students are not expected to have prior scripting or programming experience, and are not expected to have prior Windows PowerShell experience. Student Prerequisites This course requires that you meet the following prerequisites: Previous Windows Server and Windows Client knowledge and hands on experience. Experience Installing and Configuring Windows Server. Knowledge and experience of network adapter configuration, basic Active Directory user administration, and basic disk configuration. Students who have prior experience in a scripting or programming language may have an easier time with some of this course s advanced concepts but previous scripting or programming experience is not required. Discover, locate, and learn how to use Windows PowerShell commands, including built-in commands as well as add-in commands.
