1 Your RBS Visa Debit Card with contactless
2 All the main features Your Visa Debit card with contactless is a convenient way to access the money in your account when and where you need it. Whether you re popping down to the shops or travelling abroad getting access to your cash is easy. You can use your card to: Pay for goods and services Access cash machines Obtain Cashback Access services such as account information and mini-statements via branch or cash machines Your Visa Debit card is accepted at over 29 million retail outlets and 1 million cash machines all over the world. There may be charges to use your card abroad we explain them later on in this leaflet. Pay in less than a second With contactless technology you can pay for everyday essentials (up to a 20 limit) like coffee, lunch, travel or a newspaper in less than a second, wherever you see the contactless symbol. Contactless is accepted at a growing number of high street supermarkets, chemists, fast food restaurants and coffee shops. All you have to do is simply touch the reader with your card to pay. 20 You can pay with contactless wherever you see this symbol For small everyday items that are 20 or less Just touch the reader with your card to pay Once your payment is confirmed you ll be offered a receipt
3 Safe and secure Contactless is very safe. Your card comes with the same secure technology used in all our cards and is issued with the latest most advanced chip from Visa. You ll need to make a successful Chip & PIN transaction before you can make any contactless transactions. When using contactless, from time to time you will be asked to enter your PIN as a security check. We take security very seriously and provided you ve looked after your card and PIN, we ll protect you should you experience any loss. Always keep your PIN safe whether banking online or entering your PIN in a public place. We operate a fraud checking service and, if we think someone is trying to use your card fraudulently, we may contact you by phone or SMS or ask the retailer to contact us, to confirm that you are making the purchase. We will never ask you for sensitive information such as your PIN or the three digit number on the reverse of your card. Purchase protection If you pay for goods or services with your Visa Debit card and they fail to arrive; or are damaged when you receive them we could help you get your money back. This may include companies that have gone into administration before you have received the goods or services. If you re unable to agree a resolution with the retailer then contact your local branch for help. What else do you need to know? Before making transactions it s important to check you have funds in your account as not all retailers check with the bank before your transaction is agreed. We do offer an alternative Visa Debit card, where every transaction is checked, however this card cannot be used to make certain transactions. Such as transactions at unattended petrol pumps and on some trains, ships or planes.
4 Earn Rewards while you spend Cashback Plus is our debit card loyalty programme and is our way of rewarding you for being with us. Each time you use your RBS Visa debit card on qualifying purchases at one of our participating retailers, you ll earn at least 1% of your spend back in Rewards. These will automatically be added to your Cashback Plus balance. Here are some of the places you can earn Rewards: It couldn t be easier to sign up Once your card is activated, all you have to do is sign up at rbs.co.uk/cashbackplus or call (Minicom ) to start earning Rewards straight away. Lines open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Cashback Plus is available to over 18s. RBS Key and Cash Accounts aren t eligible. Register your travel plans with us If you re planning to use your Visa Debit card abroad it s best to let us know your travel plans at least 24 hours before you go. That way our Transaction Monitoring systems will understand that you ll be using your card abroad, which means it s less likely your transactions will be blocked. If you re signed up for Digital Banking, you can log on and register your trip online it only takes a few minutes. All you need to do is click Using your card abroad from the Our Products menu (at the right hand side of the page) and enter your trip details. Or you can let us know by popping into your local branch.
