1 MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET PRODUCT: PRINTED NON-WOVEN WALLCOVERING Introduction All non-woven wallcovering products are typically printed with inks based on co-polymer resins, non-toxic pigments. Independent test house analysis of wallcovering composition confirms that these products are environmentally safe with formaldehyde, vinyl chloride monomer and heavy metal levels falling within EU safety levels. Non-woven wallcoverings comprise cellulose and polyester fibres wet laid into a wallpaper base bound together with an acrylic resin. Decoration of the surface of the non-woven base can be by any printing method. Quality Anstey Wallpaper Co. Ltd is accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 (BSI certificate: FM28742). Environment 100% of timber pulp products are sourced from sustainable forest sources, certified through either PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) Chain of Custody Number SGS-PEFC/COC-0166 or FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Chain of Custody Number SGSCH-COC ). Typically the timber used in paper manufacture is sourced from Spruce and Pine softwood species. Typical countries of origin are predominantly Northern European. Under the PEFC and FSC systems (annually audited by independent assessors at Anstey Wallpaper Co) the softwood trees are carefully selected to allow a combination of tree felling and forest regeneration. Finish forests are currently increasing in size due to the long term care in forest management. Formaldehyde emissions of paper are very low, typically: Less than 10mg per kg by the RAL-GZ 479 test procedure (accepted maximum of 120mg/kg) Equal to or below 0.06mg/litre by the Japanese test JIS A 6921:2003 (accepted maximum of 0.20mg/litre) Regulatory performance Wallcoverings meet the CEN standards of BS EN233 and BS EN234, plus additional associated standards. They meet all European Standards and are CE marked under EU Directive 89/106/EEC in accordance with EN 15102: A1: 2011 and the Construction Products Regulations Fire testing of printed papers Non-woven wallcoverings meet Euro Class B under the test protocols of BS EN 13823: 2002 and BS EN 13238: They are classified in accordance with BS EN : 2007.

Hazards identification No hazards under normal conditions. Accidental thermal decomposition may present hazards from combustion products. Wallpaper is considered to be a very low risk product. The paper base is 'chlorine free' to the European test method EN71, and with heavy metal and formaldehyde content falling well inside European accepted safety levels. The pigments used to decorate the surface are classed as non-toxic. 4. First aid measures Under normal conditions: 4.1 Inhalation No specific measures to be taken 4.2 Skin contact No specific measures to be taken 4.3 Eye contact Damage to eye tissue as found with any solid object. Seek medical attention if required. 4.4 Ingestion Accidental ingestion is an unlikely event. Seek medical attention if required. 5. Non combusted residues and contaminated water from fire fighting should be disposed of under local compliance regulations.

Dispose of material via an authorised contractor, in accordance with the Control of Pollution Act 1989 and Environmental Protection Act Transport information No specific requirements.
