2 Changing Lives Changing Lives Through Missions Dear Missionaries As you plan for your next youth missions trip, outreach event or church picnic would you consider serving with Christian Programs for Inner-City Children (CPIC International) this year. We have great mission fields in Milwaukee for your team of leaders to be plugged into. They can provide meals, Bible studies, sports clinics, and serve as mentors to some of the cities most needy children. Also, if your looking to travel throughout the states on a short-term life changing missions experience, we have our East Coast Vision Quest. Teams are housed in a state of the art university dorm and serve as camp counselors for a week of VBS. Missionaries are paired up with a camper for the week and lead one-on-one devotions each day. Missionaries sharing the Gospel and investing in the Needy. In addition your group will have time to visit New York City, Philadelphia, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. They will eat real Philly cheese steaks and spend the afternoon walking through historic battle fields like Gettysburg or Valley Forge. On your return trip home you'll be able to ride on the best roller coasters on the planet at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. The impact of our missions programs is evident because the missionaries are developing their skills, mentoring the needy children, learning how to serve others, and most importantly developing their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. CPIC is only able to do these great works because of individuals and churches who believe they can make a difference by serving as missionaries in urban centers. Christian Programs for Inner-City Children (CPIC): Missions Opportunities CPIC will witness by word and deed among those who live in our community and urban centers the Gospel of Jesus Christ. CPIC will initiate, facilitate, and support the creation and development of communities of faith that seek, welcome, and gather persons into the body of Christ. CPIC will challenge missionaries to be Fishers of Men by providing opportunities to live out their faith through short-term missions. At once they left their nets and followed him. Matthew 4:19-20 CPIC will facilitate disciple-making partnerships among clergy and laity in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and throughout the United States. CPIC will preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. CPIC will assist congregations with identifying urban mission opportunities within there local community, state and throughout the United States. CPIC will provide a platform for church groups to evangelize while building new friendships and experiencing the world. CPIC will promote cooperative partnerships that strengthen and affirm the vital witness of town and country and small membership churches. CPIC will build networks which allow mission volunteers a way to share their faith and perform ministries of healing for children and families in urban communities.

4 Summer Missions The Spirit of the Lord is on me, to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord s favor. Luke 4:18-19 East Coast Vision Quest: Your team can travel in style as they climb a board a charted coach bus with other Wisconsin teens and travel to Pennsylvania for a 10 day missions adventure. Your teens and chaperones will be housed at Kutztown University in first class college dorms and eat several meals at the campus dinning area each day. Each missionary will partner up with a child for the week as they teach one-on-one Bible studies to needy children living in the inner-city of Pottstown, PA. Some of the attractions your group will visit are New York, Times Square, Ground Zero, the Statue of Liberty, Philadelphia, Gettysburg and Cedar Point amusement park. 5 Internships Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9 Missionary Internship: Offers three types of mission/ministry training programs for college age young adults. These internships provide you an opportunity to experience missions and ministry, and explore God's call upon your life for fulltime missionary service. As an intern, you will be on the frontlines and witness first hand how desperate children in the inner-city are in need of your leadership. The intern experience gives you a true and practical understanding of missions and what it means to mentor and teach others the Gospel. Your time will be spent teaching youth k-4 to 8th grade in our partnership sites. You will learn how to teach workshops, fitness classes and devotions to youth at these sites. Most program sites will be at a school, church or community center. One Semester Internship: This internship called Semester in the City which is an 15-week commitment either in the spring, winter or fall. Two Semester Internship: This internship is called Year in the City which is an 15-week fall commitment and a 15-week winter/spring commitment. Summer Internship: This internship is called Summer in the City which is an 8-week summer commitment. You will be assigned to summer VBS camp and have the responsibilities of a day-camp counselor. Goals of Program: Provide young adults the opportunity to teach workshops, devotions and wellness classes that enhance their faith while empowering disadvantaged inner-city children. 6 Christmas Toy Drive Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. Mark 10:14-15 Gifts of Love: The Gifts of love is a gift drive we host each year to help out needy children and families in our programs during Christmas. The gift drive receives donations and gifts throughout the year. Gifts are purchased, gathered, processed and then given to needy families at special Gifts of Love Christmas parties usually a week or two before Christmas. Your church, family or business can get involved in the following ways: Angel Tree Have your church or business collect gifts for the toy drive by having individuals and families purchase a gift for a child. Donation Station Ask your church or business to display our Gifts of Love Christmas Toy Drive banner at a table where visitors can see. Banners invite visitors to participate in the drive and are typically displayed for 3-4 weeks to allowing enough time for gifts to accumulate. Purchase Gifts Organize a team of volunteers and ask each team member to purchase any where from one to five gifts. CPIC will provide your team with a list of items needed. Shopathon- Organize a team of volunteers and schedule a day of shopping. CPIC will provide your team with a list of items needed. Give each team a list of items needed and have them compete to see who can purchase the most gifts with out going over the budgeted amount. Wrapathon- Organize a team of volunteers and plan a day of gift wrapping at your church or business. Have individual team members purchase or get gifts donated and schedule times for everyone to come wrap gifts. Host a Christmas Party- Host a group of central-city children at your church or business for a Gifts of Love Christmas party. Share the love of Christ with inner-city children by having them come to your church or business for dinner and a Christmas gift sharing program. 7 Volunteering Jesus told them, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest. Organize a Volunteer Team- Get your adult or youth group involved with one of our current projects or mission trips. Help CPIC identify key leaders in your congregation that might be interested in urban mission opportunities by sharing our materials and contact information with them. Here a few ways to volunteer: Serve Meals Help organize a team or serve as a family at one of our program sites. You can come serve meals for Christmas, Thanksgiving or other special events. Host a Team- Host a group of inner-city youth at your church for a Sunday of service and fun. Teams can come out to your church for a regular service or special event the church is hosting like a fair, picnic, play or concert as well. Event Staffing Help organize a team of volunteers to help CPIC at Badger, Brewer and Packer games. Share the gospel with tailgating fans before each game while helping CPIC raise support and awareness about our missions. Go! I am sending you out... Luke 10:2-3 Clothing Drive- Organize a clothing drive at your church or business and have your team donate items to our mission program sites.
