3 Corinvest Limited undertakes Cathodic Protection projects for technical and underground metal structures in the oil, gas, water and chemical supply industries. Corinvest Limited also undertakes the internal and external protection of structures above and below the surface. The company also undertakes the planning, construction and maintenance of impressed current and sacrificial systems of corrosion protection using up to date measurement and construction technologies. The corrosion protection methods utilised: The execution of cathodic corrosion protection systems: - For underground storage tanks with or without coatings. - For underground pipeline systems. - For casingpipes of production wells, using E-log-I. - For processing tank bottoms. Stray current measurement and data collection - The measurement of interference between a pipeline with CP, and metall cable systems. - The measurement and registration of the stray current interference caused by D.C. voltage on communal heating pipeline networks. - The measurement of stray current at the interaction of pipelines with and without cathodic protection or the proximity of the same. - The diagnosis of coating faults on buried piplines using CIPS and DCVG measurement methods. - Simultaneous four channel data collection at hot spots. - Corrosion analysis of excavated structures. 8 The methods of corrosion protection for buried surfaces: Passive corrosion protection, combined with impressed current /active/ cathodic protection. Passive corrosion protection: The outside surfaces of the underground pipes and the storage tanks are painted by coaltar based epoxy paint, hard polyethylene coating, wrapping, tar, or any other coating. Impressed current / active / cathodic protection: Impressed current: The current supplied by rectifier or other direct current source (specifically excluding a galvanic anode) to protected structure in order to attain the necessary protection potential. The designed lifetime of the cathodic protection system: according the technical literature: 25 years

10 About the CIPS Survey The Pipe siol survey qualifyes the condition and the effectiveness of the imposed cathodic protection system. In the case of an existing structure, it may sometimes be useful to carry out a survey to determine the structure/electrolyte potential variation along, or over the surface of the structure, employing a suitable reference electrode an voltmeter. Such a set of potential measurements may indicate those points on the structure where the worst corrosion is likely to be taking place. With no applied cathodic protection, and in the absence of stray currents, the most negative structure/electrolyte potential indicate the corroding areas. The GLOBAL SURVEYOR SYSTEM has been specially developed for the measurement of Cathodic Protection potentials and currents. The Data Logger contains sophisticated firmware to ensure that the majority of field programming requirements are catered for. CIPS & DCVG Survey in Serbia

13 Continuous Soil Resistance Measurement Basic Principle of operation: A transmitter coil located at one end of the instrument induces circular eddy current loops in the earth. The magnitude of any one of these loops is directly proportional to the terrain conductivity in the vicinity of that loop. Each one of the current loops generates a magnetic field which is proportional to the value of the current flowing within the loop. A part of the magnetic field from each loop is intercepted by the receiver coil and results in an output voltage wich is therefore also linearly related to the terrain conductivity. 14 Stray electric currents Where the presence of stray electric currents is suspected, e.g. in proximity to d.c. electric traction systems or where varying structure/electrolyte potentials indicate the possibility of such currents, it is sometimes necessary to determine more accurately the extent of stray current effect on the structure. This can be done by plotting the potential field in the area, using a stationary reference electrode, or a structure, as a reference point. The effect due to the operation of an electric traction system can be found by making a potential survey during the time the system is working and repeating the tests after the system has been shut down.
