1 BEACH FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS The rules and regulation have been made with fair play and overall enjoyment in mind. We ask that players keep this in mind throughout the day. 1. PARTICIPANTS Each team shall consist of 5 players ( 1 Goalkeeper + 4 outfield players). Tournament squads will have a maximum of 10 players. 3.2 Both teams shall be on the same sideline with all spectators seated on the opposite sideline. 2. BEACH FOOTBALL RULES OVER VIEW 2.3 Pitch & Goal Dimensions The pitch is 37 metres (long) X 28 metres (wide). The goals will be 5 X 2 metres. The endlines & touchlines are marked using tape that is a contrasting colour to the sand. 2.4 Goalkeepers Area The goalkeepers can field/handle the ball anywhere inside the 9 metre area delimited by two flag poles on each side of the pitch positioned 9 metres from the end line. See diagram below: 2.5 Restarting play: When the opposition plays the ball out over your end line play is restarted by the goalkeeper throwing the ball back into play from his area When the ball is played out by the opposition over the sideline play can be restarted with a : Kick in or a throw in.

2 2.5.3 Following a goal being scored play is restarted from the centre of the pitch with a kick off 2.6 There is no offside rule in Beach Football 2.7 A penalty kick is awarded for a foul committed anywhere inside the penalty area. 2.8 A direct free kick is awarded for fouls committed on opponents. The following rules apply to direct free kicks in beach football: The players may not form a wall The player who was fouled takes the kick, unless he has been seriously injured, in which case his substitute will take it The ball must be stationary when the kick is taken and the kicker may not touch the ball a second time until it has touched another player If a direct free kick is taken in the half of the pitch of the team that committed an offence, every player, apart from the one taking the kick and the opposing goalkeeper, must be: at least 5m away from the ball until it is in play; behind or to the side of the ball If a direct free kick is taken in the half of the pitch of the team that did not commit an offence, every player, apart from the one taking the kick and the opposing goalkeeper, must be: at least 5m away from the ball until the ball is in play, leaving an imaginary area free between the ball and the opposing goal, apart from the opposing goalkeeper, who may stay in his penalty area.

3 3. COMPETITION FORMAT 3.1 Each game shall consist of two (2) ten (10) minute halves with no half time and immediate change over of sides No additional stoppage time will be added at the end of a game Teams should report to the field at least 5mintues before the scheduled start. A team shall be allowed a five (5) minute grace period after the scheduled start time before the game is forfeit. The game will be delayed until at least seven (5) players on each team are present unless otherwise discussed with the match referee If a game is interrupted, the game must be resumed at the communal competition s time and played to conclusion. If a game is abandoned the score at the time of abandonment shall be considered final. 3.2 Games in the group stage may end in a tie; Elimination rounds (i.e. any game after the group stages) games must be played until there is a winner If two teams are tied at the conclusion of regulation play in an elimination round game, there will be no extra time. Penalty kicks shall be taken immediately in accordance with the FIFA rules to decide the game. (5 penalties each and then sudden death) In group stages, teams receive three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie and zero (0) points for a loss.

4 3.3 If there are 2 teams tied in the standings after group stages, the following procedures shall determine team rankings. 1. Head to head result between the two teams 2. Goal difference from all group matches 3. Greatest number goals scored from all group matches 4. The toss of a coin If 3 or more teams are tied: 1. The group table will be reconstructed with the three team s results against each other. (ie. any result from the eliminate team will not be included) 2. The above rules apply There shall be no limit on the number of substitutions a team may make. Substitutions are allowed based on the referee s discretion when the ball is out of play such as in the following situations: 1. After a goal is scored by either team; 2. At half time; 3. After an injury by either team when the referee stops play; 4. Prior to a goal kick by either team; 5. Prior to a throw in/kick in your favor. 6. Prior to a corner kick in your favor Substitutes shall not enter the field until motioned onto the field by the referee, and must enter at the midfield line. 3.5 Captains of both teams must sign the game results card with the referee at the end of the game. 3.6 A team shall forfeit a game under the following circumstances: If a team refuses to play a game or withdraws from the field before the end of a game or without a valid reason, as determined by the Referee, in such an event, the team shall be disqualified from the tournament, and all previous and subsequent games shall be forfeited If a team cannot put five (5) players on the field because of suspended or injured players.

PLAYER EJECTIONS 4.1 Any player who receives a red card shall leave the immediate field area and remain away from the field at a distance to be determined by the referee, and shall be suspended from their team s next game The game will not resume until the person who received the red card has left the immediate field area Yellow cards are cumulative throughout the tournament. If a player gets 3 yellow cards, he/she is suspended from their team s next game A player who receives two (2) red cards during the tournament shall be suspended from all remaining games in the tournament, and shall not be entitled to the medal, if any, won by his/her team. 5. DRESS AND EQUIPMENT 5.1 Each player shall bring their team uniform, to the game. The backs of the shirts won t be required to have numbers. 5.2 All players on the field must wear the correct uniform. 5.3 If a question arises as to the suitability of the attire, the decision of the referee is final. 5.4 No jewelry shall be worn. 5.6 Only FDA supplied balls will be allowed during a game. 5.7 A player taking part in the medal ceremony must wear his/her competition uniform. 6. MEDALS 6.1 The following medals shall be awarded: First Place = Gold Medals Second Place = Silver Medals Third Place = Bronze Medals 7. Terms and Conditions FDA Reserves the right to refuse entry of a player into the tournament. All participating teams must register on using the registration page. Entry is open to all players aged 18 years and older Squads must have a minimum of 7, maximum of 10 players. FDA reserves the right to deny entry to a team without the minimum number of 7 players. If weather conditions prevent the event taking place the event will be re scheduled to a later date. No refunds will be given if event has to be re scheduled.

6 FDA (the event organizer) will not be held liable for any loss or injury sustained by players, participants or spectators before, during and after the event. Players enter the event at their own risk. All decisions of the referees taking part in the event are final. Refund policy the full fee of $750 minus $55 administrative costs will be returned if a cancellation is made before 5 th of November 2010 (Sydney). Cancellations made in less than 20 days but more than 7 days: 50% refund, no refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the event date. FDA cannot refund for team kit orders following order confirmation. Please note that FDA needs to receive your cancellation in writing
