1 04/2009 Sentinel Embedded Bollard HANDLE WITH CARE! Pangard II Polyester Powder coat is a strong, long-lasting finish. Protect this finish from damage during installation. Place unwrapped powder coated parts on packaging foam or other non-abrasive surface. Do not place or slide powder coated parts on concrete or other hard or abrasive surfaces this will damage the finish causing rust to occur. Use touch-up paint to repair any finish abrasions. NOTES: Landscape Forms is not responsible for site preparation, footings, or electrical wiring. Never lift or handle bollard sleeve with less than two (2) persons. 2 Procedure for installing embedded bollard with dome top: 1. Embed bollard in a concrete footing that meets local frost conditions (see Figure 2). 2. Clean concrete from bollard before it sets. 3. After concrete cures, assemble remaining components. 4. Lift bollard sleeve and lower it down over the bollard. Rotate the sleeve to locate it as desired. The bottom of the sleeve must contact the concrete for proper installation. 5. Install draw ring into the top of bollard sleeve. This involves tipping the draw ring and rotating until the part is freely resting on the internal tabs of the cast bollard sleeve. Align draw ring through holes with threaded holes in bollard. 6. Install four (4) 3/8 X 3 hex bolts and alternate tightening until all are tight. Warning: Damage may occur if bolts are not tightened evenly or are over-tightened. 7. Remove two (2) nylon zip ties that secure the threaded u-clips located in the large holes at the top opening of the bollard sleeve. 8. Place the cast top onto top of bollard sleeve and install two (2) 8-32 x 1-1/2 security screws (screws and wrench provided). Page 2 of 6

4 7. Install o-ring on mitre top. Insert end of mitre top which has set screw into groove at back of the sleeve casting (Refer to Figures 3 and 4 for similar mounting process). Swing front side of mitre top casting down until o-ring is contacting top of bollard sleeve around perimeter. Pick o-ring out of front groove temporarily and insert one (1) 8-32 x 1-1/2 security screw in the front face (screw and wrench provided). Tighten until the top looks centered and is snug. Warning: damage may occur if fastener is overtightened. Work o-ring back into groove on front side. Procedure for installing embedded bollard with LED light: 1. Embed bollard in a concrete footing that meets local frost conditions (see Figures 2 and 5). CAUTION! Fixtures and wiring must be installed in accordance with local codes and ordinances. Bollard light fixtures are intended to be connected to line voltage. Do not install lighted bollards within 10 feet of a pool, spa, or fountain. 2. Clean concrete from bollard before it sets. 3. After concrete cures, assemble remaining components. 4. Lift bollard sleeve and lower it down over the bollard. Rotate the sleeve to locate it as desired. The bottom of the sleeve must contact the concrete for proper installation. 5. Install draw ring into the top of bollard sleeve. This involves tipping the draw ring and rotating until the part is freely resting on the internal tabs of the cast bollard sleeve. Align draw ring through holes with threaded holes in bollard. 6. Install four (4) 3/8 X 3 hex bolts and alternate tightening until all are tight. Warning: Damage may occur if bolts are not tightened evenly or are over-tightened. 7. Line voltage supply wires must be long enough to reach the top of the bollard sleeve. With power off connect light unit wires to supply wires (shown in Figure 5). Refer to information located on the driver for wiring details. 8. Push excess wires into bollard tube and attach the light unit with two (2) 8-32 screws (provided with light unit). 9. Install o-ring on lens (Figure 3). Insert end of lens which has a wedge shaped boss into groove at back of the sleeve casting (Figure 4). Swing front side of lens down until o-ring is contacting top of bollard sleeve around perimeter. Pick o-ring out of front groove temporarily and insert one (1) 8-32 x 1-1/2 security screw in the front face (screw and wrench provided). Tighten until the top looks centered and is snug. Warning: Damage to lens may occur if screw is over-tightened. Work o-ring back into groove on front side. Page 4 of 6

Embedded Sentinel Bollard with Wiring Detail Procedure for installing embedded bollards over pavers or other surface material Landscape Forms recommend extending the concrete footing to finish grade height (Figures 2 and 5) to allow the bollard sleeve to be properly tightened to the concrete.
