4 Introduction The Canada Post Prices binder is provided as a reference tool containing products and services prices, and related general information. It must be used together with the rest of the Canada Postal Guide, which provides details on all products and services requirements (e.g., Coverage for loss or damage conditions and exceptions). Consult the Canada Postal Guide at the following address: canadapost.ca/postalguide. Alternatively, Customers can call NOTE: The prices for the products and services found in this section are available to qualifying Customers. Small Business Customers are also entitled to other Canada Post products and services. Pricing for these products and services can be found in Canada Post Prices at the prices indicated. Certain terms and conditions apply. Customers should ensure they are using the most current version of Canada Post Small Business Prices, which is posted at canadapost.ca/prices. NOTE: Some words and expressions used in this document have a specific meaning. Please refer to section 1 Definitions of the General Terms and Conditions for the definition of specific terms referenced throughout this document. 1 Small Business Prices Small Business prices are available to contract Customers and VentureOne card holders who electronically transmit their Order using Electronic Shipping Tools or a third-party shipping system, as well as to VentureOne card holders who pay at a post office. 2 Contract Prices For information on contract pricing, contact a Canada Post Sales Representative. 3 Fuel Surcharge A fuel surcharge may apply to Services. 5 Introduction 4 Tax Information All prices and fees published in the Canada Postal Guide are subject to the Federal Goods and Services Tax (GST), and to the Provincial Sales Tax (PST or QST) or to the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), where applicable. Tax rules relating to items mailed to foreign destinations and Canadian Forces Post Offices are as follows: not subject to sales taxes if the total price per transaction is $5.00 or more if less than $5.00, subject to GST and QST if mailed from Quebec, HST if mailed from Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador, and GST only if mailed from the other provinces and territories. Tax rules relating to interprovincial (consumer) Lettermail and (consumer) are as follows: subject to GST only if mailed from Manitoba, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Alberta or the Territories subject to GST only if mailed from Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador to Quebec, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Alberta or the Territories, and the total price per transaction is $5.00 or more and taken at the counter at the time of payment if the total is less than $5.00, HST if mailed from New Brunswick,Nova Scotia, Ontario, British Columbia, or Newfoundland and Labrador subject to GST only if mailed from Quebec and the total price per transaction is $5.00 or more and taken at the counter at the time of payment if the total is less than $5.00, subject to GST and QST. Tax rules relating to interprovincial (consumer) Priority, (consumer) and (commercial) s are as follows: subject to HST if mailed to Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador regardless of total price per transaction subject to GST only if mailed to the other provinces and territories. Tax rules relating to interprovincial (commercial) Lettermail, where postal indicia are used, Addressed Admail, Unaddressed Admail and Publications Mail are as follows: subject to GST and QST if inducted in Quebec subject to HST if inducted in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador subject to GST only if inducted in the other provinces and territories. Unless covered by a contract or sales agreement, all prices and fees may be changed without notice. 5 Electronic Orders Business Customers who electronically transmit their Order (Statement of Mailing) and apply the bar-coded label generated by a shipping system to their mail items can benefit from a 3 per cent discount. 6 Prepaid Products Prepaid products are flat-priced, postage-included envelopes and labels in regional and national formats, which are purchased in advance and used as required. Prepaid envelopes are also available for shipping documents to the USA and specified international destinations. Prepaid envelopes and labels can be ordered by calling Labels are only available to Customers who have signed a specific Agreement for prepaid products. They can be dropped off at any post office. Depending on the size, prepaid products can also be dropped off in any street letter box. NOTE: All prices in the Prepaid Products section already include a fuel surcharge. Option prices are in supplement. 1 Services Prepaid Products Canada Post defines Regional, National, USA and International as follows: Regional: For use between points within the same region. National: For use between regions within Canada. 8 Prepaid Products 2 Prepaid Labels Prepaid labels are only available to Customers who have signed a specific agreement for prepaid products. Prepaid label pricing applies to Atlantic, Central and Western regions only, with the exception of Air Stage Offices. All shipments to Air Stage Offices and northern regions are based on contract prices. Use the Rate Code Look-up Table to find the applicable rate code for your package s origin and destination. 2. The cost of shipping an item is calculated in part by using its size and weight. The shipping price is based on the greater of the volumetric weight or the actual weight. Determine the actual weight and volumetric weight for your package. 3. Reference the price sheet for the service desired, eg.,. Cross reference the parcel weight (or volumetric weight as determined in step 2) with the rate code determined in step 1. These prices apply to each individual item separately. Weights of multiple pieces cannot be combined. 4. Add the price for the options you need.
