1 Setting Nutrition Education Goals #1 Students receive Nutrition education Part of present curriculum District & State that is interactive and teaches the skills in Science and Health assessment they need to adopt healthy eating behaviors. Nutrition education is offered in the Posters in hallways, corridors, Visual display school dining room as well as in the and some gyms classroom with coordination between the food service staff and teachers. Students receive consistent nutrition Posters, pamphlets, & newsletters Parent and student messages throughout the school, surveys classroom, cafeteria, home, community and media. State and district health education District curriculum guides District & State curriculum standards and guidelines assessment include both nutrition and physical education. Nutrition is integrated into the health Science and Health Curriculum District & State education curricula or core curriculum. Assessment Schools link nutrition education District curriculum guides District Assessment activities with the coordinated school health program. Staff who provide nutrition education Survey staff as to need District survey have appropriate training. Schools are Team Nutrition Schools and Brochures and Newsletters Monthly information they conduct nutrition education activities (Possible Health Fair) Community survey and promotions that involve parents, students, District Curriculum guides and the community.

2 Setting Physical Activity Goals Component #2 (Recommended Goal) At a minimum, students should have 60 P.E., recess, interscholastic sports, District survey minutes of physical activity on most, Project fit, travel time between classes, preferably all, days of the week. Marching Band, etc. Students should be given opportunities for P.E., recess, Project Fit, classroom District survey physical activity during the school day aerobics, etc. through daily recess, elective p.e. classes, walking programs, and the integration of physical activity into the academic curriculum. Students should be given opportunities for Sports, Project Fit, interscholastic School Board Report physical activity through a range of after athletics, P.E. programs school programs including intramurals, (We need separate facilities for interscholastic athletics and physical lunch and physical education) activity clubs.
