2 The Wise Men Visit Jesus Matthew 2:1-2 Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.

3 The Angel Visits Mary Luke 1:30-31 The angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.

4 The Angel Visits Joseph In A Dream Matthew 1:20-21 An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife...she will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

5 Joseph & Mary Travel To Bethlehem Luke 2:4-5 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth...to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and the line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

6 The City of Bethlehem Matthew 2:4-5 Herod asked them where the Christ was to be born. In Bethlehem in Judea, they replied.

7 The Angel Visit the Shepherds Luke 2:8-10 There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.

8 Jesus Is Born Luke 2:6-7 The time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

9 The Shepherd Visit Jesus Luke 2:6-7 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

10 The True Meaning of Christmas Christmas means many things to many people. But, what is the true meaning of Christmas? It is the birthday of Jesus Christ! Celebrating a birthday is a happy time. Celebrating the birthday of Jesus is a VERY happy time. In fact, in the Bible this news about Jesus is called the GOOD NEWS! Buy why is the birthday of Jesus such good news? Here are four reasons: 1. The birth of Jesus is good news because it shows how much God loves us. He sent His only Son into the world. (John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ) 2. The birth of Jesus is good news because He came to earth to do something about our biggest problem: sin. Every single one of us has sinned against God and we need a Savior. (Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ) 3. The birth of Jesus is good news because Jesus died in our place on the cross. He paid for our sin by His death. Three days later He arose from the dead. He beat sin, Satan, and death. (1 Peter 3:18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit. ) 4. The birth of Jesus is good news because we can have a personal relationship with Him by inviting Him to come into our lives and be our Lord. (John 1:12 Yet to all who receive him, to those who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. ) You can accept Jesus right now as your Lord and Savior. This could be the greatest Christmas celebration you have ever had. Here is a suggested prayer: Dear Jesus, I realize that I need you. I have sinned and I need someone to save me. Thank you for dying on the cross in my place and rising from the dead. Please come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for answering this prayer. Amen.
