3 COMMON INJURIES Arthritis (Knee, Wrist/Hand) Inflammation of a joint that may result in swelling, redness, and/or heat sensation. Back Pain Persistent aching or stiffness anywhere along your spine, from the base of the neck to the hips, often resulting from accidents, muscle strains and sports injuries. Bruise Also known as a contusion. Symptoms include pain and/or discolouration. Bursitis (Elbow, Knee) Bursa (a tiny, fluid-filled sac that reduces friction between tissues of the body) inflammation causing pain, tenderness or swelling of the tissues in the affected area. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Painful throbbing, tingling and numbness in your hand, wrist and forearm. Ligament sprain (Foot/Ankle, Back/Abs, Knee, Wrist/Hand) Pain, stiffness and decreased range of motion caused when a ligament is stretched or torn, decreasing the strength of the joint. Tendonitis (Foot/Ankle, Elbow, Knee, Wrist/Hand) Painful inflammation of tendons, resulting from repetitive actions. Also known as Little League elbow, golfer s elbow, tennis elbow and runner s knee. Thumb Hyperextension Stretching of the ligaments around the thumb, causing pain, swelling and instability. Also known as skier s thumb and gamer s thumb.
