2 Chapter 1: USB DMB-TH TV Stick Hardware Installation 1.1 Package Contents Please unpack your USB DMB-TH TV Stick package and make sure that all items are included. 3 1.3 Hardware Installation Follow the steps shown below for installing your TV Stick and use the pictorial guide below for appropriate hardware setup. 1. Plug the Digital TV antenna into the TV connector of USB DMB-TH TV Stick KW-UB455-M. 2. Connect the USB DMB-TH TV Stick KW-UB455-M hardware to your desktop PC or Notebook via an available USB2.0 port. -3-

4 Chapter 2: USB DMB-TH TV Stick Quick Installation The USB DMB-TH TV Stick KW-UB455-M package comes with complete software utilities. These utilities can be found on the installation CD included in the package. Before installation, we recommend that you exit all other application programs. These include applications such as anti-virus software and system monitoring applications. 1. Once you plug in the device, a window message Found New Hardware Wizard asks you if you will connect to Windows Update to search software. Choose No, not this time and click Next to run the utilities setup with the CD. 2. Click Cancel to proceed when the window shows If your hardware came with an installation CD or floppy, insert it now. Then get ready to insert the CD. 3. Insert the installation CD into the CD ROM device. The auto-run page will appear as the image at the left. Please choose Multimedia software and driver. -4-

5 4. Please choose Quick Installation. 5. This is the software license agreement. If you agree with this license please choose Next to continue, or choose Cancel to exit. 6. The Quick Installation provides you with two choices to install. If you want to install the complete set of device driver and software utility, please choose Typical Installation. Or if you want to install them partially based on your individual demands, please choose Custom Installation. Then click Install to start the installation. -5-

6 2.1 Driver Installation 7. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through installation of driver. Click Next to continue. 8. Click Install to continue. 9. Click Continue Anyway to continue. Note: This is just a Windows XP warning to make sure whatever drivers or software you install compatibly work with XP system. It doesn t mean you will have problems after installation. Just continue your installation as it won t always cause you problems. -6-

7 10. Click Continue Anyway to continue. 11. When the message as the one on the left image appears, click Finish to end the installation. 2.2 TotalMedia Application Installation 12. Please select the setup language. -7-

8 13. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through installation of TotalMedia application. Click Next to continue. 14. Click Yes to accept all the terms of the proceeding License Agreement to install TotalMedia. 15. Please insert the CD license key and click Next. -8-

9 16. Please choose the destination folder where you want to store the files. You may click Browse to change the destination folder. Then, click Next to go to next step. 17. Setup will add program icons to the Program Folder s list. You may type a new folder name, or select one from the existing folders list. Click Next to start installing. Please wait a moment while installation in process. 18. When the message as the one on the left image appears, click Finish to end the installation. Note: For more detailed TotalMedia instruction, please refer to the TotalMedia HELP. -9-

10 19. Please select the setup language. 2.3 Remote Control IR Installation 20. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through installation of the remote control program IRReceive. Click Next to continue. 21. Please choose the destination folder where you want to store the files. You may click Browse to change the destination folder. Then click Next to go to next step. 22. When the message as the one on the left image appears, click Finish to end the installation. -10-

11 23. All the drivers have been installed successfully. Please choose Yes, I want to restart my computer now to restart your computer (it is highly recommended) and click Finish to end the installation. -11-

12 Chapter 3:USB DMB-TH TV Stick Uninstallation If you want to uninstall device driver and software, just run the installation CD and press the Uninstall. Then, you can Select Quick Uninstallation or Remote Control Uninstallation based on your needs. You can choose either Typical Uninstallation or Custom Uninstallation. The former completely removes all the software utilities and drivers that you installed, while the latter allows you to customize your uninstallation. -12-

13 Chapter 4 : FAQ 4.1 How to check if the driver has been installed successfully or not? Ans: Right click on My Computer icon on the desktop and choose Properties. Once the Properties window appears, click on Device Manager and then Sound, video and game controllers to open the device list. See Fig. 1 below. Fig How to check if the Remote Control can work fine? Ans: 1) You have to check if the Remote Control utility is installed or not. Please refer to Fig. 2. 2) You have to check if the driver has been installed or not. See FAQ-1. 3) You can check if the Remote Control icon is permanently located in the Task Bar at the bottom-right of the Desktop. See Fig.3. below. Fig. 2 Fig.3-13-

14 4.3 How to use ArcSoft TotalMedia Help when I use the software functions? Ans: Click on Arcsoft TotalMedia Help on the right top of user-interface (refers to Fig. 4). You can also access from the C:\ or D:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia 3.5\TotalMedia.chm See Fig. 5 below. Fig. 4 Fig
