1 Job Details Position: Pastor of Sampa Community Church Location: São Paulo, Brazil Reports to: Board of Elders General Job Description: The pastor is responsible to the church for providing spiritual and administrative leadership and guidance for the church as a whole; and is to use his skills in teaching and pastoral care to meet the needs of church and community members. Funding: This is a salaried position. Salary is Reais per month ($1/R$2.8 Reais = roughly $1,964 Dollars) for the first year with no other indirect benefits. It is possible to supplement this salary with personal fundraising for additional benefits. God willing, after the first year, the salary will be increased in accordance with inflation rates. Start date: As soon as possible, preferred March 15, 2015 General Responsibilities Job-specifics: Specific Duties and Responsibilities ( hours per month) Member Care (70-80 hours per month) a. Oversee assimilation process of visitors into the life of the church from first visit to salvation (if not already saved), to baptism, Starting Point, to Community Group participation and onward growth. b. Establish and lead Sampa Communities Groups as the primary means of member Care. c. General counselling and care of members as needed d. Facilitate membership commitment & conversations e. Officiate weddings, visit the sick, perform funerals, baby dedications, and baptisms Administration (20-30 hours per month) a. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of church systems and protocol b. Communicate with Board of Elders and Executive Team - updating and debriefing current church projects

Track Sampa health and progress - oversee and implement tracking system (key metrics) e. Strategic planning and implementation f. Oversee Sampa budget Teaching/Leading (30-40 hours per month) a. Lead, develop and manage campus staff and volunteers b. Lead meetings and training c. If needed teach membership classes as part of Teaching Team Study (20-30 hours per month) a. Be constantly growing in the knowledge of God and His Word b. Be constantly growing in leadership skills Project Management (2-8 hours per month) -Oversee special projects at church level as needed -Attend an annual staff retreat Employee Evaluation - Every 6 months the Board of Elders will do a Performance appraisal to promote both the institutional development of the organization and the personal development of the Leader. Note: The candidate should not enter any other paid employment or income-generating activities without the Board's prior approval.

3 Requirements for Pastoral position at Sampa Community Church, Sao Paulo, Brazil: 1. A man of God whose life and actions are characterized by the description of elders found in 1 Timothy 3: 1 7 and Titus 1: An ordained/trained pastor/minister. 3. Believes and holds to Sampa s core beliefs and values, as described below. 4. Who adheres to Protestant theology, in line with Sampa s Statement of Faith (see last two pages). 5. Completely bilingual fluent in spoken and written English and Portuguese. 6. Married, with a wife who is also bilingual, and who can support the ministry. 7. Has a heart for the poor and needy. 8. Willing and able to get involved with expatriate activities, such as the Newcomers Club, the American Society etc., in order to connect with and reach the Englishspeaking expatriate community. 9. Willing to only preach on an occasional basis, so that subtitled DVD messages can generally be used, for the benefit of non-english speaking Brazilians and WeServe Brazil. 10. Has strong leadership qualities, who can develop, articulate and implement a vision for Sampa which the church membership can understand, get behind and play their part in seeing realized. 11. Has an ability to develop leaders and recruit volunteers. 12. Have discretion, perseverance, patience, a sense of humor and a team spirit, and be genuinely caring. 13. Good knowledge of and ability to teach the scriptures. 14. Have a proven history of visionary pastoral leadership. 15. Model the Lordship of Christ such that it illuminates Scripture, inspires and convicts towards Godly living, and encourages and motivates the church to follow the Lord Jesus Christ more fully. 16. 6 About Man Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by sin. In Adam, all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are sinners. Men are justly condemned to eternal judgment and can do nothing to merit salvation. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. 7 About the Church The Church is composed of all believers. It is the body and bride of Christ, formed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit and existing in two aspects, universal and local. The universal Church is an elect company of believers, baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. Its mission is to witness of its head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel among all nations. The local Church is a group of believers voluntarily joined together in love (fellowship) to worship God with praise and thanksgiving, and to glorify Jesus Christ through an involved effort to disciple others by the preaching of the gospel, and the exercise of spiritual gifts. The Lord s Supper is to be celebrated regularly in remembrance of Christ s death on the cross, and in expectation of His return. Water baptism is an outward testimony of a person s belief in Christ.
