40 RBT Standards To apply for the RBT credential, the applicant must: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (4+4+4) Successfully complete a background check at application - Verified by supervisor Complete a 40-hr training based on the RBT Task List - 37 task areas - Conducted by a BCBA/BCaBA Pass the RBT Competency Assessment - Administered by a BCBA/BCaBA
