1 SEASON OF PRAYER Monday 6th April - Sunday 24th May I am going to send you what my Father has promised, but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high. Luke 24:49
2 Season of Prayer Welcome to the 50 days of prayer! This is a very significant time in the life of our church community, and I m delighted that there is a great deal of enthusiasm for our coming together in a special season of prayer individually, in Pastorates, and corporately here at the Centre. Together we can bring our prayers to God and also listen to what He has to say to us. In this booklet you will find a suggested daily reading for this season. There will also be an accompanying daily blog on the church website reflecting on the passage. On Mondays, we will be following events in the life of Jesus in this period between the resurrection and Pentecost. On other days, we will be looking at passages from Deuteronomy; at some key prayers in the Bible; and at some of Jesus teaching on prayer. Deuteronomy is all about re-focusing on God as His people seek to cross over into the Promised Land. My hope is that, as we reflect on this together, there will be a greater sense of unity and purpose amongst us. This booklet offers some key prayer points, but our aim is not to come to God with a shopping list. Rather, this is a season to grow in our dependency on God, both individually and as a church, and to seek His will for the church and more generally. Ian Stackhouse
