2 Background Requirements: More and more people pay attention to and join into the space science research. Not only scientists, but also common people especially students... But they have no professional tools, have no experienced group, and have not so much resources. They need a totally open platform to supply these services. 2016/10/31 2

3 Background So we have an idea: Build a service-oriented cloud platform for space science mission concurrent design (SSMCD), it is open for common people. What can we do: Several design and analysis tools are offered as services in the cloud platform, and people can create a virtual community to imitate the work mode of concurrent design facility. Everyone can join, everyone can do" 2016/10/31 3

4 Objectives Five services will be offered spacecraft conceptual orbit design service: support to design objective orbit and understand mission objectives rapidly spacecraft conceptual structure design service: support to design spacecraft structure and configure payloads other analysis services: support to assess the solution feasibility storage and computer resource service: enable the users access the resource anywhere and anytime virtual community service: support the group of scientists and engineers to do collaborative work 2016/10/31 4

5 Platform Architecture B/S architecture is applied in the space science mission concurrent design cloud platform, which brings the advantages of web applications and avoids the trouble of installing and updating application programs (software). 6 Platform Services "software as a Service" (SaaS) The term "software as a Service" is considered to be part of the nomenclature of cloud computing, along with infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS). SaaS is a software licensing and delivery model in which software is licensed on a subscription basis and is centrally hosted. SaaS is typically accessed by users using a thin client via a web browser. The space science mission concurrent design cloud platform uses the idea of SaaS, offers the following services. 11 Collaboration Strategy Data sharing and real-time collaboration strategy 1 Sharing: all the operations of the scene and data are stored on the database in the server. 2 Broadcast: once the server receives the updated parameters, it will be broadcasted to other immediately. 3 Synchronization: the others update the data and do the same operation. 2016/10/31 11

12 Collaboration Strategy Data locking and consistency strategy 1 Data locking: only one occupies the component to operate the scene, when one user select the component of the scene, the component is locked. 2 Consistency strategy: Once one operation is finished, all the others will receive the updated scene immediately. That is what you see is what you do. This state change is very quickly, time delay can be omitted. 2016/10/31 12

13 Conclusion The greater you dream, the larger you stage. The cloud platform is the stage on which everyone walks the first step to realize the space science dreams. Now the space science mission cloud platform has been running online and open for the registered users. 2016/10/31 13
