1 ANt Initially, Arne Jacobsen designed the Ant for the canteen at Novo Nordisk, an international Danish healthcare company. Today, the Ant is one of the most prominent icons in the collection. Despite its minimalist form and svelte shape, the Ant is an extremely comfortable chair.

2 ARNE JACOBSEN The cooperation between Arne Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen dates back to But it was in 1952 the break-through came with the Ant. While the significance of Arne Jacobsen s buildings was less appreciated, his furniture and other design work have become national and international heritage. DESIGN Arne Jacobsen, DESCRIPTION Series of laminated veneer chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen, manufactured by Fritz Hansen. The shell is in pressure molded veneer. The inner veneer is always beech and the outer veneer is available in 9 different veneers: Maple, Beech, Ash, Elm, Oak, Oregon Pine, Cherry, Walnut or Dark-stained Oak. It is also available in 2 finishes; coloured ash (lazur) or lacquered in 9 different colours: White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Black, Yellow, Orange, Red, Petrol Blue or Sage Green. The base is 14 mm chromed steel tubes with 3 or 4 legs and leg ferrules of black synthetic material. Environment & Tests The chairs are coated with polyurethane lacquer, which prevents the emission of formaldehyde. For environmental reasons all parts of the Ant can be dismantled. The Ant is tested according to EN 13761, EN 1728 and BS 4875 for strength and durability, and EN 1022, ISO and BS 7945 for stability. WARRANTY Standard goods have warranty for five years against manufacturing defects (i.e. materials and design). The warranty does not cover leather and other fabrics ordered as customers own or special material as well as products manufactured according to customer specifications. Normal wear and tear and damage of covers are not covered by the warranty. The warranty for wicker and lamps is 2 years. The range of accessories includes linking device, transport dolly, seat and row numbers.
