2 at the sound of the bells, the congregation stands GATHERING CALL TO WORSHIP Blessed be God the Word, who came to his own and his own received him not, for in this way God glorifies the stranger. O God, show us your image in all who come here today, that we may welcome them, and you. CONFESSON AND ABSOLUTION all may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins Blessed be the Holy Trinity +, one God, the source of life the word of salvation, the spirit of mercy. Let us confess that God is God and we are not. Silence is kept for reflection Gracious God, we confess that we have sinned against you and against one another. We neglect to keep you at the center of our lives and turn our hearts to worship false idols. Too often we search for comfort in material things rather than in the promise of your incarnate love. We are quick to judge others, yet we fail to see our own faults. We ignore the cries of the poor, the children, and those on the margins as we grow weary of working for justice. Humble us, O Holy One, and let the brilliance of your love shine on us, that we may be saved. Peace be with you, sisters and brothers. In baptism you have received a spirit of adoption; you are God's beloved children. In the name of Christ your sins are forgiven. Rejoice and welcome this freedom as a gift. 9 LORD'S PRAYER Let us pray the prayer our Lord taught us: Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For thine in the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen CREED INVITATION TO COMMUNION The Body and Blood of Christ: behold who you are. Become what you receive. Thanks be to God. All, and we mean ALL are welcome at Christ's table. The gifts of God are free and for you. Tonight, we commune by intinction (dipping the wafer into the cup). All wafers are gluten free. You can choose from a cup that contains red wine or white non-alcoholic juice at any station. We'll move in a clockwise direction to be served. Ushers will help you find your way. Please let an usher know if you'd like servers to come to you. And remember, ALL are welcome to share in this bread of life & cup of salvation. COMMUNION The body of Christ, given for you. 10 PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION The Word of the living God is written on the tablets of our hearts You are our God and we are your people. Let us pray for after each petition Loving God, hear your children. Into your great and loving hands, O God, we offer up our concerns and desires. We trust your steadfast love forever and ever.
