In this a mobile send command to PC to control drip irrigation. Here we use different sensors like humidity, temperature, light etc. for detection purpose. These sensors send real time values to microcontroller and microcontroller send these values to PC via serial communication. According to sensor values graph will be display on PC and Mobile side and by using this graph user can on or off drip devices. In this we keep threshold value for each sensor. Mobile user can control drip irrigation from anywhere and also he can change threshold values of sensors via mobile. This Technique is more beneficial for agriculture area. Keywords - Real Time monitoring, Android, Irrigation, Hardware control, IP Address. INTRODUCTION Drip irrigation is artificial method of supplying water to the roots of the plant. It is also called micro irrigation. In past few years we see rapid growth in this system. Our drip irrigation system is based on remote monitoring and controlling. In this both mobile and PC monitor and control drip devices. Central PC performs actual control of systems. Sensor-Based irrigation system has been studied in much application. Mahir Dursun proposes a wireless application of drip irrigation [1]. In that he shows wireless control of irrigation solution and real time monitoring of water content of soil. He uses solar powered for data acquisition. This irrigation prevents moisture stress of trees. Proposed remote monitoring and control system based on GSM(Global System Management) GSM network is a medium for transmitting the remote signal and communication takes place between monitoring centre and remote monitoring station[2][3]. 2 In our system central monitoring is PC and remote monitoring is mobile and mobile send command via network (internet or wifi) and android application to PC. Then PC will ON or OFF device 1.1 Hardware 1. ADC (Analog to Digital Converter): ADC0808 IC is used to convert analog to digital.all sensors are connect to ADC IC.It is use for sensor values. 2. Microcontroller 89C51IC: 8 bit microcontroller.it has 8bit bidirectional ports that are P0, P1, P2, P3.It has inbuilt UART for serial communication. 3. MAX 232: It converts signals from an RS-232 serial port to signal suitable for use in TTL compatible digital logic circuit. 4. ULN2803: It uses the low level (TTL) signal to switch on/ turn off the higher voltage/current. 5. Sensors: We use sensors like humidity, temperature, a) PC: It will available on server side for monitoring and control drip components and sensor value graph is display. b) Mobile: It acts as client which control drip irrigation and on or off drip components remotely. Mobile should be android based. 1.2 Software 1. Windows xp/7 Microsoft Windows is a series of graphical interface operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Microsoft. Microsoft introduced an operating environment. 2. Android OS Android is a Linux-based operating system designed primarily for touch screen mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers. Initially developed by Android, Inc., which Google backed financially and later bought in 2005, Android was unveiled in 2007 along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance: a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. 3 OBJECTIVES 1. The objective of this project is to design android application and implement hardware of drip irrigation control using internet that is suitable for real life implementation. 2. The project implementation also aims to have control drips remotely as well as automatically that reduce overhead of farmer and it also reduce manpower that farmer needs to supply water to plants. 3. This automatic Drip irrigation system is very beneficial for increasing crops production and it uses different sensors like temperature, light, humidity and soil moisture so it can be use in area where water resources are less. LITERATURE REVIEW A wireless application of drip irrigation automation supported by soil moisture sensors by Mahir Dursun and Semih Ozden Department of Electrical Education, Technical education Faculty [1] Irrigation by help of freshwater resources in agricultural areas has a crucial importance. Because of highly increasing demand for freshwater, optimal usage of water resources has been provided with greater extent by automation technology and its apparatus such as solar power, drip irrigation, sensors and remote control. Traditional instrumentation based on discrete and wired solutions, presents many difficulties on measuring and control systems especially over the large geographical areas. This paper describes an application of a wireless sensor network for low-cost wireless controlled irrigation solution and real time monitoring of water content of soil. Data acquisition is performed by using solar powered wireless acquisition stations for the purpose of control of valves for irrigation. The designed system has 3 units namely: base station unit (BSU), valve unit (VU) and sensor unit (SU). The obtained irrigation system not only prevents the moisture stress of trees and salification, but also provides an efficient use of fresh water resource. In addition, the developed irrigation method removes the need for workmanship for flooding irrigation. The designed system was applied to an area of 8 decades in a venue located in central Anatolia for controlling drip irrigation of dwarf cherry trees. Wireless sensor node hardware by Healy,M.newe,T.Lewis IEEE 15 th international symposium on Consumer electronics[7]. This System introduced GPRS technology with better application prospect. The sensor node gathers the hydro graphic information such as water-level, gate position and rainfall. The sink node receives the real-time data; the information centre stores and processes those data which are transmitted from the sink node through the GPRS network. The system replaces the wired transmission with the wireless transmission, which reduces the costs in instalment and maintenance, and improves the system s reliability and extension. 4 Research of wireless sensor networks for an intelligent measurement system based on ARM by Wenbin Huang, Fengqi Gao Department of electrical engineering [2]. This system proposes remote monitoring and control system based on GSM.GSM network is a medium for transmitting the remote signal and communication takes place between monitoring center and remote monitoring station. The central monitoring station performs real time control, alarm and data processing and also manages database. Receiving and sending of data in central monitoring station is achieved by using GSM wireless communication modules. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE Figure1 shows System architecture of drip irrigation control using mobile application. In this sensor gives value to the PC through microcontroller. According to this real time value the graph will be display on PC (Server) and Mobile. Devices are attached to relay. To use this application user need wifi or internet. When user open drip app in mobile he have to enter IP Address of server. For controlling devices remotely he need password for security purpose. Figure 2 shows snapshot of Android Application. This system reduce the extra manpower is needed to the farmer for his farm like supplying water to plants. This system uses different sensors like temperature, light, humidity etc. and according to this sensor parameters farmer can control drip.due to internet connectivity between client and servers, farmer can control drip component from anywhere.this system remove drawback of previous systems like distance problem, range problem. Due to automatic mode drips can be controlled automatically by hardware. This approach is very beneficial for increasing crop production.
