What is a fjord, exactly? It is a deep saltwater channel carved by a retreating glacier, often characterized by towering granite or limestone walls and spectacular waterfalls. Princess guests visiting Norway will have the opportunity to see and in some cases sail right into these magnificent natural wonders. One of Norway s most incredibly rich fjords is the magnificent Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with cliffs that rise 2,000 feet. Among its sights are the Seven Sisters Waterfalls seven separate streams that tumble as far as 820 feet to playfully flirt with the solitary Suitor waterfall on the opposite face of the fjord.
