1 All-Age Service Sunday 3 July Thomas Unbelievable! The service is led by Revd Jeremy Fletcher, Emily Hoe, Ben Merrell and the All-Age team. Stand Greeting We Gather Together We come from scattered lives to meet with God. Let us recognize his presence with us. As God's people we have gathered: let us worship him together. Welcome Notices and Banns of Marriage. Hymn Praise, my soul, the King of heaven; to his feet thy tribute bring; ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, who like me his praise should sing? Praise the everlasting King. Praise him for his grace and favour to our fathers in distress; praise him still the same for ever, slow to chide and swift to bless: Glorious in his faithfulness.

2 Father-like, he tends and spares us; well our feeble frame he knows; in his hand he gently bears us, rescues us from all our foes. Widely as his mercy flows. 4 We Listen To God s Word Bible Reading John Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe. A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you. Then he said to Thomas, Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe. Thomas answered him, My Lord and my God! Jesus said to him, Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe. This is the word of the Lord Thanks be to God. Talk Stand We believe in God the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. We believe in God the Son, who lives in our hearts through faith, and fills us with his love. We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us with power from on high. We believe in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. 6 We Pray Together Our prayers use our hands to reflect on prayer and doubt. The prayers end with the Lord s Prayer, using our hands too! Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen. The Last Word We Go Out Into The World What did Thomas do next? Hymn During the hymn the Collection is taken and the flags of the uniformed organisations are returned. In Christ alone my hope is found; he is my light my strength my song; this cornerstone, this solid ground; firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! - who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save; til on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied, for every sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live. 6

7 There in the ground his body lay, light of the world by darkness slain; then bursting forth in glorious Day up from the grave he rose again! And as he stands in victory sin s curse has lost its grip on me, for I am his, and he is mine - bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me; from life's first cry to final death, Jesus commands my destiny.
