2 DAY OF THE WEEK Mondays Tuesdays WHO TO PRAY FOR Apostolic Church UK Missionaries Youth and children PRAYER FOCUS FOR DECEMBER 2016 WHAT TO PRAY FOR Pray that members and leaders of the Apostolic Church will enter His gate with thanksgiving, as we see the end of the year That we will enter His court with praise for His love and care in Praise the Lord for our missionaries for the Lord is good and His mercy endures to all generations. Pray that God will give our young people a legacy of righteousness. That God will make their impact in this nation and the world greater than their lifespan. That God should give them the fruit that will remain. Wednesdays Body of Christ Pray that as a body of Christ we will continually give thanks to the Lord for His goodness. That we will acknowledge His wonderful works to the children of men. And give thanks for His wondrous deeds in Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays The United Kingdom 1. People with diverse problems 2. Parents 3. Pregnant women All Nations Centre, yourself and family Praise, thanksgiving & worship Pray that leaders and citizens of United Kingdom will appreciate and praise the Almighty God. That the citizens of UK will praise Him for His merciful kindness towards the nation. Praise the Lord all you people. Pray that God will bring His people out of every affliction. That every yoke of the enemy in whatever shape or form will be broken. That God s people will never be put to shame but will walk upright. Pray that as families and church, we will experience God s favour and fruitfulness. That we will know His divine presence in the rest of this year. That we will reap good harvest of souls before the year runs out. Give thanks to the Lord who has been on our side from January to December Praise Him for being our Help. Worship Him as the Maker of heaven and earth. BIBLE READING Psalms 100:4-5 Enter into His gate with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the father in My name He may give you. Psalm 107:8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and His wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 117:1-2 Praise the Lord, all you gentiles! Laud Him, all you people! For His merciful kindness is great towards us. And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! Leviticus 26:13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright. Leviticus 26:9-12 For I will look on you favourably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. I will set My tabernacle among you and My soul shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. Psalm 124:1-8 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive...when their wrath was kindled against us; Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. 4 SUMMARY FOR BIBLE READING SUMMARY OF THE BOOK OF PSALMS The Book of Psalms is a collection of 150 ancient songs. King David wrote many Psalms (that is, songs). There are many different subjects. Many Psalms are glad songs which praise God (for example, Psalms 103 and 150). Other Psalms are sad prayers (Psalm 74). Some Psalms explain that God will rescue us from our troubles (Psalms 40 and 41). And some Psalms are about the history of Israel (Psalms 74 and 78). Psalm 119 is about the Bible. In Psalm 51, David confesses an evil deed. Psalm 22 describes how Jesus would suffer. Psalm 2 tells us that God will rule the world. Psalm 1 teaches that we must love God. The Psalms are a very special part of the Bible. We can learn many things about God from their beautiful words. They are in the Bible's Old Testament. SUMMARY OF THE BOOK OF COLOSSIANS The Book of Colossians is Paul's letter to the Christians at Colosse. Paul had not visited Colosse. But he often prayed for the Christians there (Colossians 1:3-14). Paul reminded the Christians about the importance of Jesus. Jesus is God, and he created everything. Then, Jesus became a man, so that he could die for us. Because Jesus died, God will forgive us. If we invite Jesus into our lives, we will become friends of God (Colossians 1:15-23). Then, Paul warned the Christians about some people (Colossians 2). These people wanted the Christians to obey the ancient rules of the Hebrew nation. And these people said that real Christians must obey all such rules. Paul did not agree. He wrote that these rules were human traditions (Colossians 2:8). Christians ought to obey Christ, instead of tradition. Traditions might seem wise, but they cannot help us to live good lives (Colossians 2:23). Paul reminded the Christians how they should live. They should think about the things in heaven (Colossians 3:2), because they belong with Christ (Colossians 3:3-4). They should not do evil deeds (Colossians 3:5-11). Instead, they should love other people (Colossians 3:12-14). And they should serve God (Colossians 3:15-17). Summary of Books of the Bible culled from:
