Ths paper proposes a smart amusemet park system to offer each tourst the GPS-based customzed pla wthout toursts makg decsos by themselves. The proposed system cossts of the moble app subsystem, the cetral subsystem, ad the detectg/coutg subsystem. The moble app subsystem teracts wth the cetral subsystem. The cetral subsystem performs the ecessary computg ad database maagemet of the proposed system. The detectg/coutg subsystem ams to detect ad compute the umber of vstors to a attracto. Expermetal results show that the proposed system ca ot oly work well, but also provde a ovatve busess operatg model for owers of amusemet parks. Several major ssues regardg amusemet parks clude the vstors' satsfacto, loyalty ad revst teto. Iformato ad commucatos techologes (ICT) ca be good facltato to these ssues whle the techologes have already become a major tred the dustry of amusemet parks as observed. Famous theme parks such as Walt Dsey World [2], Uversal Orlado Resort [3], Ocea Park Hog Kog [4], Jafusu Facy World [5] ad Leofoo Vllage Theme Park [6] Tawa have troduced ICT-based techques to ther park servces, especally moble apps [7]-[16] whch get more ad more popular recet years. I respose to ths questo, ths paper proposes a smart amusemet park (SAP) system to accommodate the tour pressure problem wth a ovatve soluto called the GPS-Based dyamc schedulg scheme to offer toursts the customzed best plas of tour (a recommeded attracto wth the recommeded tme to arrve ad play) based o toursts' GPS coordates wthout toursts makg plas by themselves. Toursts ca use the moble app to establsh ther persoal attracto lst, choose ther preferred attracto prorty (closest frst, shortest wat tme frst, or hottest frst), ad requre the SAP system to fgure out the best tour plas for them. OVERVIEW The SAP system cossts of three subsystems: moble app subsystem, cetral subsystem, ad detectg/coutg subsystem. A. Moble App Subsystem Ths subsystem s the moble app provded by the amusemet park for toursts to dowload ad stall o ther smartphoes or tablets, ad ca be used by toursts to access SAP servces. Ths subsystem may commucate wth the cetral subsystem va W-F or 3G/4G commucatos systems through the Iteret. B. Cetral Subsystem Ths subsystem s resposble for SAP system kerel computg ad database maagemet, ad may be located the cotrol room of the amusemet park. Also, ths subsystem wll re-calculate the queue legth at every tur of attracto operato. Attracto Ifo provdes toursts wth detaled formato about each attracto the park, where attractos are categorzed by whch theme area they resdes. Whe a tourst actvates the GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg fucto wth prorty of Closest Frst, app wll use Google Maps Drectos API [19] to acqure the walkg tmes of the tourst from hs or her GPS coordates to all the attractos' GPS coordates My Play Lst. The app wll fd the attracto wth the shortest walkg tme, request the cetral subsystem to calculate ts recommeded tme to arrve ad play, ad dsplay the result to the tourst. - Shortest Wat Tme Frst After app obtas the walkg tmes to the attractos My Play Lst usg Google Maps Drectos API, t wll sed them to the cetral subsystem. The the cetral subsystem calculates ad fds the attracto wth the shortest wat tme ad ts recommeded tme to arrve ad play based o the walkg tmes receved. Later o, the cetral subsystem seds back the result to app for dsplayg. ote that the wat tme ths paper s ot the geeral wat tme of a attracto, but a adjusted wat tme based o the tourst's GPS coordates. I other words, the wat tmes of toursts may dffer depedg o how log they eed to walk to a attracto. - Hottest Frst The SAP system regards the attracto wth the hghest Mothly Vsts as the hottest attracto. Smlarly, app wll acqure the walkg tmes usg Google Maps Drectos API ad sed them to the cetral subsystem. The the cetral subsystem fds the hottest attracto My Play Lst based o the Mothly Vsts of each attracto. Wth the walkg tme of the hottest attracto, the cetral subsystem calculates the recommeded tme to arrve ad play, ad returs the result to app as the best soluto for the tourst.. GPS-Based Dyamc Map Whe a tourst requres the GPS-Based Dyamc Map fucto for a specfc attracto, app wll use Google Maps Drectos API ad Google-Play-Servces lbrary to show the route ad drecto from the tourst to the specfed attracto o the electroc map of the amusemet park, where the map ca be easly zoomed ad out.. Moreover, the tourst ca search for hs or her selected attractos wth moths, years, or a specfc durato Hstorcal Record. - My Play Lst Ths Lst ca be used by toursts to requre the GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg fucto performed by SAP system. The attractos ca be selected Tour Gude/Attracto Ifo or modfed drectly My Play Lst. B. Cetral Subsystem The cetral subsystem s resposble for system kerel computg ad database maagemet of SAP system. I addto to park formato provso, ths subsystem accepts requests from app, processes the requests accordgly, ad reples app wth correspodg results. Furthermore, ths subsystem receves the statstcs of daly vst couts ad curret queue legths of attractos from the detectg/coutg subsystem, ad updates the felds of Mothly Vsts ad Queue Legth the Attracto table the database. GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg s the ma scheme proposed ths paper ad ts kerel algorthm s mplemeted the cetral subsystem. GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg scheme accepts the tourst's request from app ad fds the best pla of tour based o tourst's GPS coordates, My Play Lst, ad preferred attracto prorty (Closest Frst, Shortest Wat Tme Frst, or Hottest Frst), amg to offer a better customzed tour experece ad easer way for tourg. The kerel algorthm of ths scheme calculates the estmated wat tme ad the recommeded arrval tme of a attracto for a tourst who s somewhere the park apart from the attracto. ote that the wat tme s ot the geeral wat tme whch s the same for all toursts, but t s a adjusted wat tme based o toursts' GPS coordates. To be specfc, the calculato cosders both the processg tme of the curret queue ad the walkg tme of the tourst from hs or her startg posto to the attracto. The processg tme of the curret queue s related ad affected by the remag wat tme of the curret queue ad the curret queue legth, as well as the capacty ad durato of the attracto [20]. Shortest Wat Tme Frst Smlar to 1, after ths subsystem obtas the tourst's walkg tmes to each of the attractos My Play Lst, t calculates the estmated wat tmes of each attracto based o Algorthm 1, chooses the attracto wth the shortest wat tme as the recommeded attracto, ad seds back the result cludg recommeded arrval tme to app as the best soluto. 3. Hottest Fst The SAP system regards the attracto wth the hghest Mothly Vsts as the hottest attracto. After recevg tourst's request from app, ths subsystem wll retreve the hottest attracto, calculate the estmated wat tme ad recommeded arrval tme usg the walkg tme of the hottest attracto based o Algorthm 1, ad retur the result to app as the best soluto. As for the desg of the database of the SAP system, ths database cossts of database tables such as ews table, Attracto table, etc. The Attracto table stores all requred attracto formato of each attracto the amusemet park. The Attracto ID feld s the prmary key of the Attracto table that uquely defes a partcular attracto ad relates to the other tables. The formato the felds of ame, Photo, Lmtato, Thrll Level, ad Mateace are provded whe a tourst looks up the Attracto Ifo. The Logtude ad Lattude felds are requred whe SAP system performs the GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg ad GPS-Based Dyamc Map schemes. The values the felds of Queue Legth, Durato, Capacty, ad the Sesso Tme are used for calculato Algorthm 1. The Mothly Vsts ad Queue Legth felds are updated accordg to statstcs set by the detectg/coutg subsystem. The value of the Mothly Vsts feld s reset ad re-couted the begg of each moth, ad represets the popularty of the attracto. C. Detectg/Coutg Subsystem The detectg/coutg subsystem cossts of sesors whch ca sese huma peetrato cooperated wth computg elemets deployed at the etrace of each of the attractos the amusemet park. The tourst peetrato through a etrace wll be detected by the sesor ad the the sesor wll otfy the computg elemet to accumulate the daly vst couts ad the queue legth. Also, the computg elemet wll re-compute the queue legth at every operato tur. The daly vst couts ad the queue legth wll be set to the cetral subsystem at approprate tmgs to update the Mothly Vsts ad Queue Legth of the attracto the database. IV. SYSTEM IMPLEMETATIO AD TESTIG A. Evromet ad Implemetato Tools The mplemetato evromet of SAP system s show Fg. 1. The moble app subsystem s developed Adrod 4.3 platform usg Eclpse tegrated developmet evromet (IDE) wth Adrod SDK. The cetral subsystem s mplemeted usg Vsual Studo C#, hosted o a HP desktop PC rug Wdows. Mcrosoft SQL Server serves as the system database o the same desktop PC. The detectg/coutg subsystem cossts of a programmable Arduo UO mcrocotroller board, a frared sesor ad a otebook, where the Arduo UO board s coected wth the otebook va a USB cable. As for the commucato betwee the subsystems, the moble app subsystem may commucate wth the cetral subsystem va W-F or 3G/4G commucatos systems through the Iteret, ad the detectg/coutg subsystem may commucate wth the cetral subsystem va Etheret or W-F systems. Testg ad Expermetal Results The testg feld of the SAP system s show Fg. 2. There are sx attractos located the testg feld. We wll show some of our expermetal results as follows. Frst, we test f the moble app subsystem ca access the system database the cetral subsystem correctly. We start the expermet from the ma meu of the moble app subsystem. The successve scree captures are show from Fg. 3 (a)-(d). Compared wth the cotet the database, we verfy that the moble app subsystem ca access the database the cetral subsystem ad show the result correctly. A specfc ovel feature called GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg s desged to provde toursts wth customzed tour suggestos (recommeded attracto wth recommeded arrval tme) based o each tourst's favorte attractos, preferred attracto prorty, ad GPS coordates wthout toursts makg varous tresome decsos by themselves. Servg as a locato-based servce, the GPS-Based Dyamc Schedulg scheme cosders ot oly the geeral wat tme of curret queue but also the estmated walkg tme of the tourst based o GPS coordates to yeld a locato-based wat tme. Furthermore, the moble app of SAP system gves a tegrated, easy-to-use terface for toursts who are famlar wth smartphoes or tablets owadays.
