5 System Design and Project Execution Because a successful installation depends on the integration of key process units with properly selected ancillary equipment, K-S will provide a complete system, or assist the customer in selecting components as needed. We develop customized instrumentation and control packages as required to assure optimum performance. K-S variable volume membrane plate filter presses reduced cycle time and increased cake solids in pigment manufacturing, resulting in less need for drying and significant cost reduction. For a toxic, flammable solvent removal application, K-S developed a dryer capable of operating continuously under either pressure or vacuum conditions. K-S developed a two -zone paddle processor permitting drying/cooling, heating/cooling, or multi-temperature reactions to be performed in a single unit. K-S developed an innovative enclosed horizontal vacuum filter which applies waste steam to help recover a valuable process component in a continuous-feed operation.
