4 02 Looooooooooong-life Our carpet tiles achieve the highest level of sustainability. All our products are tested by independent laboratories in accordance with the European EN 1307 standard. G4 03 Best wear resistance All our carpet tiles have the highest classifications class 32 or 33 for wear resistance for textile floorcovering. That means that they are extremely wear resistant.

5 04 Castor chair All our carpet tiles are tested for suitability for castor chairs. They are certified to the EN 986 standard, A intensive use, and can therefore also be used in demanding office environments. 05 European standard As required in all EU-countries, all our products are CE-certified. They even meet the strict requirements of the European EN standard. 06 Fire safety Our carpet tiles comply with the strictest European regulations R for fire safety. Certified to the European EN standard, they have all earned a B fl -s1 classification. 5

6 Health None of our products contain harmful substances or give off emissions or odours. That is confirmed by the certification issued by the specialised and independent GUT institute. 08 Maintenance-friendly As modulyss only uses the best materials, our carpet tiles are easy to maintain and clean. 09 Recycling With each new design, we strive to use as much recycled raw materials as possible in our production. 6

7 10 CARE To recycle carpet tiles that have reached the end of their product life cycle, we started the CARE programme in January 2009, along with the Vanheede Environment Group. By converting m² of old tiles into secondary fuel, we reduced CO 2 emissions by eight tonnes Quality certification For modulyss, quality is a top priority. We have had an ISO 9001 quality certificate for years. 12 REACH modulyss complies with the strict European REACH standards. Minimum70* In October 2008, we became the first European manufacturer to bring an ecological carpet tile to market Minimum70. The Econyl70 yarn has been upgraded to ECONYL, consisting of 100% recycled material. All the modulyss eco-tiles are now 100% ecological. 9 16 Industrial waste All of the industrial waste that modulyss generates is recycled or converted into secondary fuel in the form of pellets. 9

10 17 back2back modulyss is the only company in Europe that completely uses its carpet tile waste generated during the tile cutting process by incorporating it into the secondary backing of the products. 18 Innovation At modulyss, we innovate every day. Solar energy In February 2010, modulyss put its new solar panels into operation. The park has a capacity of 467,500 kwh, comprising 12% of our total electricity consumption. 10

Day after day. 22 Eco-tiles The past five years modulyss launched five new ecological carpet tile collections: Eco100 C, Reverse100, Converse100, Alternative100 and Millennium HQE Haute Qualité Environnementale In 2005, modulyss earned the HQE certificate because our carpet tiles complied with the French environmental standards. The certificate is issued by FDES, an independent institution, for compliance with the NF P standard. HQE 11

12 24 Antistatic All of our carpet tiles are permanently antistatic, in accordance with the ISO 6356 standard. That means that they achieve a value that is equal to or less than 2 kv. 27 Dimensional stability Our carpet tiles have a performance stability of less than 0.2%. The stability is tested in accordance with the European EN 986 standard. 25 Experience modulyss has more than 20 years experience in the production of carpet tiles. That experience helps us to make the best products, day in and day out. Ecological mini-tuft tile In January 2010, we launched Reverse100, the first ecological mini-tuft carpet tile collection. 13 28 Solvent-free The bitume used in the backing of our carpet tiles is not oxidised and has not been processed with solvents, resulting in a supple, wear resistant and solvent-free backing. 29 Economical with water Rain water is the only water we use in the production of our carpet tiles. In comparison with 2008, we have reduced our water consumption by 46%. 31 Flat organisation With our flat organisation structure and open way of doing things, we want to be a pleasant partner to deal with or work for. 32 UPEC Our Millennium100, Step and First ranges have earned the UPEC guarantee certificate. That certificate, issued by CSTB, certifies that our modulyss products are suitable for the French market. 30 Recycling raw materials At modulyss, we are economical with our raw materials. All of the remainder and waste yarns that are collected during production are completely recycled into new yarns. Minimum100 13

14 33 Abz Allgemeine bauaufsichtliche zulassungen Our carpet tiles are certified in accordance with the standards of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBT), making them suitable for use in the German market. 34 No heavy metals modulyss carpet tiles do not contain any heavy metals. They are free of harmful substances, such as lead, cadmium, mercury or chromium. 35 Sustainable Solution Certificate As part of the CARE programme, converting carpet tiles are converted into secondary fuel at the end of their life cycle, customers receive a certificate that guarantees that the tiles have been converted in a sustainable way. 14

15 38 Centralisation modulyss only has one production site, which makes it possible for us to reduce internal transportation and limits our CO 2 emissions drastically Google, Map Data 2010 Tele Atlas 39 Waste reduction modulyss strives to reduce the volume of waste from the production processes as much as possible. Compared to 2008 we have reduced the amount of residual yarns by 9% and the amount of cutting waste by 12%. 36 Green electricity All of the electricity that we use at modulyss is green electricity generated from renewable resources. 37 Ecological packaging modulyss adheres to the recycling philosophy for its packaging as well. We only use cardboard boxes that are made of 100% recycled material. 40 Electricity savings At modulyss, we are very aware of our own electricity consumption. Through a variety of measures, we have succeeded in reducing our electricity consumption by 17% in four years. (2008: 4,497,596 kwh : 3,402,718 kwh : 3,851,835 kwh : 3,737,275 kwh) 15

16 41 Recycled primary backing The primary backing we use for the complete modulyss range is made 100% of recycled PET bottles. 42 High-quality raw materials For the production of our carpet tiles, we use well-known yarns of the highest quality, which contributes to the exceptionally long life of the carpet. 43 Easy installation Our carpet tiles can be installed extremely easily. 44 Natural gas consumption At modulyss, we are economical with our energy. In four years, we have reduced the volume of natural gas used by our company by 24%. (2008: 10, Mwh : 6, Mwh : 7, Mwh : 7, Mwh) 45 Environmentally friendly sample books Our sample books have been designed to use a minimum of paper, ink and cardboard. With their smaller size, they also take less energy to transport and ship. 16

20 53 ECNZ Environmental Choice of New Zealand The ECNZ certificate is a label program, conferred to stimulate sustainable product development, which requires i.a. a minimum recycled content in the backing. All modulyss eco-products have obtained this certificate since July dback The dback felt backing helps to optimize the sound absorption and impact noise rating qualities of our carpet tiles. Compared with our 100% bitumen back2back, dback provides a minimum improvement of 50% in sound absorption and an average improvement of 15% in impact noise rating. The ideal solution for buildings with additional acoustic requirements. This has been tested in accordance with the ISO 354 and ISO standard. 20

21 55 In-groove, carpet tiles that capture dust In-groove carpet tiles are 6 times better in capturing and retaining fine dust than hard floors. They contribute to a purer interior air in the work and living environment. GUI Gesellschaft für Umweltund Innenraumanalytik In-groove is designed to reduce the concentration of fine dust in the air and has been tested by GUI. This independent German Testing Institute specialises in the analysis of interior air quality. IN-GROOVE 21

22 70% becomes 100% All modulyss eco products use the ECONYL yarns of Aquafil, the recycled material of which has now been increased from 70% to 100% post industrial and post consumer polyamide 6 waste. This standard is used worldwide as a guideline for developing a CSR approach in companies. modulyss has operated in compliance with the ISO standard since Light Reflection Value (LRV) of carpet tiles The light reflection value is the quantity of light that is reflected by the carpet when the latter is lit by a light source. The value is determined by the colour and structure of the carpet. The higher the value, the more light is reflected. All modulyss carpet tile collections are tested by the CSTB (FR) and obtain excellent values, thereby contributing to a lower energy consumption in an office environment. 22
