1 Parable of the missing silver coin I would like for us to examine the parable of the missing silver coin today found in Luke 15. Over the years I have heard it taught several ways but upon studying it recently from several Hebrew teachers, it has shed a new light that I believe to be correct. The parable of the lost coin is between the parable of a lost sheep and the parable of the prodigal Son in which I believe has some significance, I also chose this image for a particular reason. The words of silver coins, preserve your wealth should have great importance to us as believers without referring to monetary wealth. Slide 2 Let s start by reading Luke 15:8-10 Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost. 10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Slide3 Most everyone would rejoice over finding a lost piece of silver, But I think if we dig a little deeper we can decipher the intended meaning. Yeshua spoke in parables because He knew that those of the world uninterested in truth would just listen to the story and move on, but those who truly believed in Him would understand it s meaning. And not just because the Holy Spirit places some vision in our heads, but because we as believers would study YHVH s word or will and would therefore be able to understand the analogies being made. If the Spirit is telling you something and it isn t in the Scriptures, I would question want Spirit it is from.

2 Slide 4 In Mark 4:9-12 Yeshua say s And he said, He who has ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. 11 And he said to them, To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, 12 so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven. Slide 5 So let s begin by deciphering what the different meanings are according to what the Scripture teaches us. The first subject mentioned is a woman, the Body of Messiah is commonly referred to as the Bride, as in relation to the Wedding feast and the parable of the 10 virgins found in Matthew 25. I believe this is a majority accepted view which there are many, many, verses which refer to this so I have only chose 3 for times sake, Revelation 19:7-9, Matthew 25: 1-5 or actually the entire chapter and then Ephesians 5:27 Slide 6 The next subject mentioned is the 10 silver coins, most have interrupted this as the 10 lost northern tribes, but if we examine this closer I believe it means the 10 Commandments and here is why, You cannot separate the 12 tribes of Israel. And the parable brings a point of just 1 is lost. So Let s examine what Silver means according to Scriptures, Psalm 12:6 The words of Yahweh are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times. I believe King David should be considered an authority on the Words of YHVH. So we should understand this as the 10 words of YHVH. In the original Hebrew text the word Commandments is translated from the Hebrew Word Davar So we should understand Luke 15 as Or the Bride of Messiah having the 10 words from YHVH, If the Bride loses 1 word of YHVH does she not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it?

3 Let s also look at the #7 why is it used. It is used 735 times (54 times in the book of Revelation alone), the number 7 is the foundation of God's word. If we include with this count how many times 'sevenfold' (6) and 'seventh' (119) is used, our total jumps to 860 references. Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). It derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God s creation of all things. According to Jewish tradition, the creation of Adam occurred on October 7th, 3761 B.C. (or the first day of Tishri, which is the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar). The word 'created' is used 7 times describing God s creative work (Genesis 1:1, 21, 27 three times; 2:3; 2:4). There are 7 days in a week and God's Sabbath is on the 7th day. The Bible, as a whole, was originally divided into 7 major divisions. They are 1) the Law; 2) the Prophets; 3) the Writings, or Psalms; 4) the Gospels and Acts; 5) the General Epistles; 6) the Epistles of Paul; and 7) the book of Revelation. The total number of originally inspired books was fortynine, or 7 x 7, demonstrating the absolute perfection of the Word of God. So I believe our conclusion should be that 7 is most closely aligned with perfection especially when associated with the Word of Yahwey. What does the word purify mean? According to my unabridged Webster's it means, "to make pure, to free from anything that debases, pollutes, adulterates, or contaminates; to purify metals. To free from foreign or objectionable elements: to purify a language. To free from guilt or evil. To clear or purge. To make clean for ceremonial or ritual use. Slide 7 The next objects mentioned are a lamp, broom and a house. Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Which seems to makes sense, If we would lose a Word of YHVH wouldn t we open His Book of His Words to find it? Or in the literal sense if we lost something wouldn t we use a light to illuminate what we are looking for? I believe the next object to sweep one would assume with a broom, I could not find the word broom used in the King James or the CJB bibles, at least not used as in sweeping with a broom so I am going to assume our understanding of to Sweep should mean to clean. Clean has many uses in Scripture but predominately means to remove sin which is to not transgress YHVH s Word. House I believe is self explanatory and is in reference to where you live in the pashat meaning, and the house of Israel, in the remez meaning.

4 Slide 8 Lets look closer at clean, Ezekiel tells us that clean is holy and unclean is profane. Isaiah tells us if we are washed clean of evil things we will be clean in YHVH s eyes, therefore clean would be a man without evil, and an unclean man would do evil. Numbers tells us if a woman is not defiled she is clean, thus defiled would be unclean and undefiled would be clean The Gospel of John tells us YHVH s Word cleans us. Thus the lack of YHVH s Word would make us unclean King David tells us that fear of the LORD is clean, which I believe he is implying that fearing the LORD is doing What His Word says, thus again Doing the Word of YHVH is or makes us clean, not doing them makes us unclean. Job tells us that YHVH Himself is clean because His Word is clean and pure. 1 st Samuel tells us that King Saul knew something implying something bad had befallen him so he knew he was not clean And in Matthew Yeshua tells us that the Pharisees appeared clean implying they looked like they followed YHVH s Words but really were not because they followed their own words instead. Thus we could glean from that verse that again following YHVH s Words is clean, but following the words of men is unclean. There are literally hundreds of verses about clean and unclean but I am hoping everyone understands the pattern here, Clean is following YHVH s word which is to say not to break them, for we know breaking them is sin and sin is obviously unclean. A lot of verses have to do with clean and unclean animals but in part I believe this still promotes the same principle, eating only clean animals gives us good health, eating unclean animals is bad for our health.

5 Slide 9 The next object is the house. It is implied that it is the Woman who lost the coins house and if this is The Bride of Messiah, then the house can only be the House of Israel. Slide 10 So lets put this together as Scripture defines each word; Or the Bride of Messiah having the 10 words from YHVH, If the Bride loses 1 word of YHVH does she not look to the Scriptures Sincerely seeking to finding it so she can become clean from breaking YHVH s lost Word. And verse 10 says that all the angels rejoice when 1 sinner repents which is a huge clue to what the parable is actually saying. So which coin is Lost? If we look at the vast majority of those who believe in the GOD of Abraham Isaac, and Jacob, we will find the vast majority are Christians. Whether Christians believe the Law is nailed to the cross or not they still believe or follow 9 of the commandments of YHVH even if by default, The one they do not follow is to keep YHVH s Sabbath holy. Number 4. Slide 11 Jews or Hebrews follow the Biblical 7 th day Sabbath as the Hebrews in the Bible did, Sunset Friday evening to Sunset Saturday evening. The 7 th day is the Day that YHVH sanctified as the Sabbath and He Himself rested from His Labors. While Muslims do not celebrate the Sabbath like Jews or Christians, they do have a day of prayer that is a lot like many Christian church services. This day is Friday.. This Quoted from With the exception of the Church of GOD and the Seventh Day Adventist, all other religions that I know of including most all Christian sects and Roman Catholics celebrate the Sabbath on the first day of the week Sunday. So as this chart by The US Center for World Missions shows that less than 3% of the population celebrates the Biblical Sabbath. This truly brings to mind a remnant of My People.

6 Slide 12 So as a brief refresher What day does YHVH say is His Sabbath that He Sanctified? Deuteronomy 5: 12-15, Obviously there are tons of verses on the Sabbath day being the 7 th day, but I don t believe anyone here disputes this so one should be good. Slide 13 So this Woman or Bride of the House of Israel finds her Lost commandment and she rejoices and the angels in heaven rejoice with her. I believe this is a picture being painted for us for when some of the 25% of the world population, The Christian Church, finds the Biblical Sabbath, All the angels and all of the existing 3% will rejoice. YHVH does not write only parts of His covenant on our hearts. He writes all of them. He does not pick and chose and neither should we. Slide 14 YHVH tells us in Exodus that it is a sign between Him and His people forever. This means that when YHVH looks down on His Sabbath, He will see who His people are because we will be sanctifying His Sabbath just as He has commanded and He will not be looking down on Sunday. An important note here, Is, YHVH looks down on His designated 7 th day Sabbath, Not the Sunday Sabbath that man created. Slide 15 As King David states, His commandments are as pure as silver purified 7 times by fire. The parable of the Lost Silver Coin is about YHVH s people finding all His Commandments and as we do we become wealthier than money Jewels or precious metals could ever make us.
