3 Overview "Product Versions" provides a list of related MOTOTRBO product software revision levels used to test system performance for the MOTOTRBO SLR 5000 Repeater. "Known Issues in Product Release" details the known MOTOTRBO SLR 5000 product issues which remain outstanding at the time of this release of software to the field. Known product issues are divided into two categories: New issues opened against new functionality in this release Latent issues (product issues also existing in earlier releases) Please refer to the Known issues in product release section of this document for details on the open issues as of this release. "Resolved Issues in Product Release" details the known MOTOTRBO SLR 5000 product issues which have been resolved in this release of software to the field. Definitions A known issue is a problem that is currently unresolved (open). A closed or resolved issue is a problem that has been repaired and no longer should occur in the product after upgrading to the new product version. 4 What s new in the Release SLR 5000 Repeater Description: The SLR 5000 is Motorola Solutions Next-Generation integrated voice and data MOTOTRBO Repeater designed to meet the needs of professional and commercial radio operators. It offers significant improvements in Reliability, Performance and Serviceability in a more Eco-friendly design. The SLR 5000 will reuse much of the MOTOTRBO Suite of tools such as Customer Programming Software (CPS) and Remote Diagnostics and Control (RDAC) that today's customers are already familiar with and will support all of the features and functionality of today's XPR/XiR/DGR/DR (Cypher) products. Figure 1: SLR 5000 Repeater The Motorola SLR 5000 Series Repeater provides a modular, flexible analog and digital station designed for today's communication systems and for the future. The station is available for use in these configurations: Analog Conventional Digital (MOTOTRBO) - MOTOTRBO DMR Tier 2 Conventional Single Site - MOTOTRBO DMR Tier 2 Conventional IP Site Connect - MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus Trunking - MOTOTRBO Linked Capacity Plus Trunking - MOTOTRBO Connect Plus Trunking - MOTOTRBO Digital Voting LTR Trunking Passport Trunking MPT1327 Trunking The SLR 5000 series can either be configured as a stand-alone repeater or as a repeater connected to a back-end network, as in the case of operating in IP Site Connect mode. As a repeater, it listens on one uplink frequency, and then re-transmits on a downlink frequency, thus providing the RF interface to the field subscribers. When configured for analog station operation, the repeater is designed to operate with most existing analog systems, which enables a smooth migration to the MOTOTRBO system. 5 When configured for digital operation, the repeater offers additional services. The digital repeater operates in TDMA mode, which essentially divides one channel into two virtual channels using time slots; therefore the user capacity is doubled. The repeater utilizes embedded signaling to inform the field radios of the busy/idle status of each channel (time slot), the type of traffic, and even the source and destination information. The SLR 5000 series facilitates the field replaceable unit (FRU) concept of field repair to maximize system uptime. The FRU concept also aids in allowing the end user/ maintainer to lower their inventory costs. 8 Known issues in product release Issue Number CCMPD Product / Version SLR 5000 User Impact Description Approximately 10 seconds after a USB connection is lost, the SLR 5000 repeater resets. All the LEDs on the front panel go green momentarily when the repeater is resetting. Frequency of Occurrence Always Trigger Special Configurations Recovery Method Recovery Time Workaround This can occur, for example, when a service technician connects a laptop via USB to use Customer programming software (CPS) or the Remote Diagnostics and Control (RDAC) application locally, and then disconnects the laptop after use. None The SLR 5000 recovers automatically after a reset. <30 seconds A user should take the SLR 5000 out of service prior to connecting to it via USB. If the user cannot take the repeater out of service and is required to connect to the repeater on a live system, the user should connect to the repeater remotely on the IP network rather than via USB. Issue Number TBD Product / Version SLR 5000 and TRBONet 4.6 User Impact Description TRBOnet PLUS 4.6 or earlier does not support the SLR 5000 when used as a master repeater. Admin or dispatcher will see system disabled inside TRBOnet PTT box for channels connected via SLR 5000 master repeater. Communication between the TRBOnet dispatcher and a radio on the SLR 5000 channel will not work, and eventually the TRBOnet dispatch application will automatically disable the radio. 9 Issue Number TBD Product / Version SLR 5000 and SmartPTT PLUS 8.6 User Impact Description The "System Monitoring" module of SmartPTT PLUS 8.6 will not display all SLR 5000 alarms and may indicate incorrect Importance levels for the SLR 5000 alarms that it does display. This issue will be observed as follows: 1) SmartPTT PLUS will not display the new NGR alarms when receiving an XCMP broadcast message that contains the new SLR 5000 alarms. 2) When "Informational" alarms are received for higher numbered channels (as supported by SLR 5000) they are displayed as "High Alarm."
