4 Professional Development Courses P ROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES TrainingPro experts have designed and developed non-accredited courses to help mortgage professionals enhance their knowledge of the mortgage industry in a variety of key areas including: Marketing Strategies for Mortgage Brokers This course gives loan originators the tools they need to develop a successful business plan from the lessons of proven marketing techniques. The course focuses on how to maximize shares of closing dollars and how to build a successful business in the mortgage industry. Mortgage Basics This course provides new mortgage professionals with essential information about the mortgage industry. New mortgage professionals benefit by learning comprehensive mortgage terminology, important concepts and practices, and how to attract new clients. State Specific Exam Preps This tool gives students a leading edge when preparing for their state licensing exam. Exam Preps take students step by step through all information found on their state licensing exam, including state laws and regulations. In addition, students are provided with practice test questions to help them prepare. The Residential Loan Originators Training Manual New and experienced originators will learn the role of the originator, the history of the mortgage industry, and how to increase sales volume by building relationships with customers. Students are taught the steps of completing the application and the application process. The course teaches students how to use an appraisal and the impact credit scoring has on the borrower. Other topics include how to originate a FHA and VA loan, as well as how mortgage insurance premiums are calculated. Understanding Credit Scoring This course extensively covers the history of credit scoring, the company that developed credit scoring and the effect credit scoring has on a borrower. New and experienced originators learn how to read, compute, and increase a credit score. Understanding the Residential Appraisal This course provides mortgage professionals with an overview of the appraisal process, concepts, and procedures. Students are taught how to qualify the collateral using the appraisal. In addition, students are taught how to review an appraisal application as well as mechanics of appraisals. Students will learn three approaches of the appraisal and the role of the originator and appraiser.
