Fun starts with a smile and exceeding your expectations from the first conversation to the handshake when leaving the dock. We love fishing and this passion is the lifeblood of our business and the foundation of building your total experience with us. What to Expect

2 The first conversation with us is with our captain not with some booking service, which is basically a cattle call. You deserve better and we treat you as our friend not just another number so discover the difference from the very beginning. Through this relationship building, we determine how to customize a fishing experience that ensures your highest satisfaction. We provide our friends communication between this first call and the day of the trip, so you can get fishing reports and weather forecasts for establishing timely and accurate expectations. We provide an optional night before orientation for you as well. This gives you time to meet the captain and have a general walk-through of the boat and the accommodations and continue to build your total experience. Expect a mature and well-qualified crew. Our team are seasoned in all types of fishing and we all have the same passion for fishing fun. We have climate-controlled salon, so escape the conditions outside and come inside to a relaxing atmosphere and be just steps away from getting back in the action. We promote learning. We want you be as involved as you would like and you re level of comfort. This is never something compulsory, but it is our sincere invitation to your complete experience. Expect customer service from our entire team. The boat, the captain and the mate are here with the same common purpose~ Service! Safety Guidelines Adult Beverages- We do not have a policy precluding the consumption of adult beverages. If you and your party bring such beverages, we kindly ask that you refrain from becoming intoxicated. Intoxication can become a safety hazard and the captain has duties obligating him to your safety and he reserves the right to bring the vessel to harbor for any reason when safety becomes a concern. Communication- Many aspects of fishing can have hazards and we want to avoid them whenever possible. We simply ask for and promote communication between the fishing party and the mate when any potential risk can become a safety issue.

3 Vessel Orientation- The day of or the day before your fishing adventure, we have a detailed walk through of the safety equipment and protocols should a warranted event take place. Payment Policy Deposit and Balance- When you choose to book a trip with our company, we require a 50% deposit and the balance due the morning of the trip. You ay choose to pay the full balance before that time but it is not required. Tipping the Mate- Our mates work exclusively on tips. The mate s tip is customarily 15-20% and should be paid in cash when the trip is over. We encourage a cash transaction, but if cash becomes an issue, please see our payment options. Methods of Payment- Payments can be accepted by any major credit card, Paypal or Cash. We only accept personal checks for the deposit and any returned checks for insufficient funds will incur of a $50.00 dollar charge if not sufficiently corrected by an alternative method of payment. Refund Policy 100% Refund- If for any reason your fishing trip is cancelled, (inclement weather, equipment failure etc.), you will be refunded 100% of your funds. Partial Refund & Future Discounts- We reserve the right to determine when a partial refund or discount shall be granted for reasons due to but not limited to: Sea sickness or other illness leading to early termination of fishing. Depending upon the timing of such an event, the captain will make the determination for such a refund. Poor fishing. We make every attempt within our powers to fill coolers, but sometimes you have bad days. Our commitment to your total satisfaction includes providing a 10% discount on future trips when we do not catch fish. Mechanical Breakdown- If such a breakdown occurs, it will be the determination of the captain and party representative to mutually agree to a full or partial refund according to the time of such and event and how the event affected the experience of the party.

4 Other- Any other unforeseen event leading to the failure to deliver a quality customer experience, the captain shall at his discretion offer a partial refund or future discount. Our commitment to your total satisfaction is our standard. We are in the relationship building business, so our written policies are in support of this desire. We further promote honest and clear communication. We welcome all questions to ensure the proper management of expectations. 5 Other Good Information The Day Before Departure We encourage visiting the boat and meeting the crew the evening before your trip. Fishing and Weather Update Probable fishing location Discuss Arrival/Departure/Travel Time Any Special Concerns, i.e. allergies, medical, etc. We will provide the location and slip number for the boat you will going out on. Take seasickness medication, if susceptible Take before bedtime then continue as directed Scopolamine, Meclizine (Bonine), Dramamine Ginger root and even ginger ale are alternatives and may help Get a good night of sleep and avoid drinking too much Fishing & Weather Update Bring food & drinks in a small to medium size cooler Don t bring a large cooler on board leave it in your vehicle to put fish in on return. We will have adequate ice and fish storage on-board What to Wear Comfortable clothing for the season Comfortable rubber soled deck shoes with toes covered - consider grip on wet decks when choosing Bring a rain jacket, even if rain is not expected Dress in layers & bring a hat A dry shirt to change into if you get wet.

6 Fishing can be messy so wear something you don t mind getting dirty Day of Departure Safety- A Captain s safety briefing is given before leaving to include: Life Jackets & PFD s Man Overboard Where flares are located & how to use them First Aid Kit Location How to find your location on the GPS How to make a Mayday distress call Location of fire extinguishers and how to use them Special circumstances, if they exist Mate s Fishing Briefing

7 What can we expect to catch Where are we going How to use the reels Weather Update/Seas Location of the Head (bathroom) Trash disposal policies What to Expect Passing Through Local Inlets with Potential Rough Water Be seated either in the cabin or the rear of the boat and hold on Make sure your gear is secure prior to Look at the horizon to avoid getting sick, especially if you are inside Put on a rain jacket if sitting outside in the rear because it is likely you will get some spray Please do not sit on the side of the boat through the inlet Remember getting through the inlet is an adventure, don t expect a pleasure cruise at this point. On the Way to the Fishing Grounds The trip to the fishing areas may take from 45 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on conditions, so enjoy the trip. Many types of wildlife is usually spotted such as dolphins, whales, variety of birds, etc The Mate will show you how to rig the lines and outriggers if you are interested in learning. Please ask questions if you have them. Have a couple of stories or jokes ready to tell. The trip out can be lots of fun when everyone is engaged. Experience the thrill of the open ocean. Keep in mind that the A/C will not be available while we are traveling above 20 knots, the most comfortable place may be outside Don t forget the sunscreen and sunglasses Fishing Methods Trolling The Captain and Mate will deploy out 8 or 10 lines for trolling and use outriggers to keep the lines separate. Trolling speed is between 5 9 knots depending on targeted species Colorful rigging will be deployed to attract the fish along with baited hooks called ballyhoo. Once a fish is on you can reel him in, remember to keep the line tight and use the technique we showed you earlier at the dock to keep the line clear. Normally, you will use the fighting-chair as you reel, but not always. Bottom Fishing and/or Jigging

8 You may go to the Diamond Shoals Lighthouse, various shipwrecks, man made underwater structures or natural underwater obstacles where fish congregate. The boat may drift or maintain station while you are fishing. Use the rods & reels while standing, bracing your legs against the side of the boat for stability The Mate will go through proper use of the equipment with you. Again, please ask questions if you need a better understanding Artificial lures or organic bait (such as squid or live baitfish) may be used Casting Occasionally available species or conditions will require casting, which uses lighter tackle open-faced reels. The Mate will go through the proper procedures so that you can do it yourself or he will cast for you if required. Advanced anglers are encouraged to use their own tackle if desired. The Captain and Mate will be constantly communicating the fish location so that you can cast the lures to the best location. On special trips we provide a second boat to move into casting spots while Reel Nauti trolls, drifts or remains on station during casting activities Avoiding Potential Hazards While Fishing Always be aware of what is going on around you. Hooks and gear are usually pretty large and very sharp. Clear the area while the fish is being pulled on board, especially for large fish. This situation has potential to be dangerous. Always ask the mate when it is okay to get that close up shot. Heading Back to Harbor Once the decision is made to return to the dock, the Mate will pull in all of the lines and secure the outriggers. Occasionally, the seas will pick up in the afternoon and make the trip back a little rough. In rough seas, follow the same guidelines as going through the inlet. So hang on. Enjoy the ride back in. Take a look around and see what you may have missed while focusing on fishing. The ocean is beautiful out there take it in. We will return through the inlet again, so remember to stay off of the sides and get comfortable but hold on. The ferry from Ocracoke is usually pulling in about the same time we are so keep an eye out for it and wave back they always wave. What to Expect Once Back in Harbor

9 Your fish are usually placed on a wet dock where the mate will assemble them for group photos of your day on the water. The mate works on tips and you need to prepare for a 15-20% tip preferred usually in cash. Most local marinas have a fish cleaning service and prices will likely range from $2-$4 per pound.
