5 science projects Each project consists of 5 days of classes. You should choose two of the three science areas during the programme (one to be taken in each week). Each focuses on an area of science with the opportunity for you to explore and research in detail and thus develop personal research skills and critical thinking and guided class teaching within the broader context of that topic. Below is a sample project for each of the course areas. 6 chemistry physics Example project: The development of graphene Graphene has been referred to as a wonder discovery of the early twenty-first century. It is a versatile material, more than 100 times stronger than steel and with incredibly efficient conductivity of heat and electricity. This option will cover the development of the material examine its material form and structure and cover some of the potential uses. Example project: Technology involved in Travel to mars Several successful robotic missions to Mars have been undertaken. Each of these requires a large technological foundation to enable its success. This course would examine the technology required to mount such a mission and how it is shaped. You would learn about the practical applicated of physics in this space context.

7 Fi nan cial math e ma tic s Example project: Use of mathematics in high frequency Trading Quantitative analysis is now a central part of the investment banking trading process and core to this process is the use of mathematics and algorithms designed to offer a competitive edge. This course will examine the process by which such trading takes place and explain how the formation of algorithms is a key part. You will learn how these algorithms can work and the enormous effects they have had on how banks trade.

12 supervision The University has 24 hour security surveillance and first aid support. Students will be supervised by the mentors. Supervisors will be residence in the same accommodation area throughout the programme.
