1 WHITEFISH BAY HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TRADE BOOK PURCHASE GUIDELINES In an effort to be more cost efficient both for the school district and for parents, students attending Whitefish Bay High School in will be required to purchase their own trade books (paperbacks) for their English classes. In the past, the cost of these books was included in the school registration fee. Now, students will have the choice as to where to purchase the required books, including the possibility of purchasing used books. The English Department s required trade book list is provided below and can also be found on our district's website ( within the high school English Department web page. Be sure to note both the class in which your child is enrolled as well as the teacher, found on your child s fall schedule. (It is recommend that you only purchase books for first semester at this time.) Some trade books are "choice books" and will be read near the end of the semester. If your child would like to have more time to decide which choice book to read, the choice book purchases may be deferred. Options for purchasing books include, but are not limited to, the following book dealers: 1. Boswell Book Company, LLC 2559 N. Downer Avenue Milwaukee, WI online ordering: 2. Barnes and Noble Booksellers 5755 N. Bayshore Drive Glendale, WI online ordering: The easiest way to ensure that you are purchasing the correct version of each trade book is to use the ISBN number indicated for each title. If purchasing online, simply type in the ISBN number (no need to type "ISBN") and the correct trade book should appear. If you go to the bookstores listed above, Whitefish Bay s required trade book lists are on file and a customer service representative will be able to help you gather the trade books your student needs. Please have the trade books (with the possible exception of the "choice books") purchased by the start of school. Your child should bring them to her/his English class on the first day. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the trade book purchasing, please contact either Ms. Aliisa Sampe at aliisa.sampe@wfbschools.com or Ms. Lindsey Ashlock at lindsey.ashlock@wfbschools.com.
2 GRADE 9 Whitefish Bay High School English Department Book Lists Students are responsible for purchasing the books they will be reading in their English classes this year. These books are organized by course and teacher below. Be sure to select the correct translation/edition/version of each book by using the ISBN numbers indicated. These numbers are found on the back of the book cover or on the back of the title page. In addition, you may type the ISBN number, instead of the title, when searching for books online at sites like barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com. Please order only the books needed for the current semester to eliminate any confusion that may result if there is a future schedule change. Also, please bring books on the first day of class.
