2 Opening Hymn Come Holy Ghost, Creator blessed, and in our hearts take up Thy rest! Come with Thy grace and heavenly aid, to fill the hearts which Thou hast made, To fill the hearts which Thou hast made! To fill the hearts which Thou hast made! Act of Consecration O Holy Spirit of God, accept me as Thy disciple: guide me, illuminate me, sanctify me. Bind my hands, that they may do no evil; cover my eyes that they may see it no more; purify my heart, that evil may not dwell within me. Be Thou my guard; be Thou my guide. Whithersoever Thou leadest me I will go; whatsoever Thou forbiddest me I will renounce; and whatsoever Thou commandest me, in Thy strength I will do. Lead me, then, unto the fullness of Thy truth, through the guidance of Holy Mother Church and Her apostolic authority. Amen. 3 First Day Let us Pray: Almighty and eternal God, Who has vouchsafed to regenerate us by water and the Holy Ghost, and hast given us forgiveness of all sins, vouchsafe to send forth from Heaven upon us Thy sevenfold Spirit, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Fortitude, the Spirit of Knowledge and Piety, and fill us with the Spirit of Holy Fear. Amen. Second Day Let us Pray: Come, O Blessed Spirit of Holy Fear, penetrate my inmost heart, that I may set Thee, my Lord and God, before my face forever: help me to shun all things that can offend Thee, and make me worthy to appear before the pure eyes of Thy Divine Majesty in Heaven, where Thou livest and reignest in the unity of the ever Blessed Trinity, God, forever, unto ages of ages. Third Day Let us Pray: Come, O Blessed Spirit, possess my heart. Enkindle therein such a love of God, that I may find satisfaction only in His service, and for His sake lovingly submit to all legitimate authority. Amen. Fourth Day Let us Pray: Come, O Spirit of Fortitude, uphold my soul in time of trouble and adversity, sustain my efforts to strive for holiness, strengthen my weakness, give me courage against all the assaults of my enemies, that I may never be overcome and separated from Thee, my God and greatest good. Fifth Day Let us Pray: Come, O Blessed Spirit of Knowledge, and grant that I may perceive the will of the Father: show me the nothingness of earthly things, that I may realize their vanity and use them only for Thy glory and my own salvation, looking ever beyond them to Thee, and Thy eternal rewards. 4 Sixth Day Let us Pray: Come O Spirit of Understanding, and enlighten our minds, that we may better comprehend and believe all the mysteries of salvation; and may merit at last to see the eternal light of Thy glory; and through obedience to the teachings of Holy Church to have a clear vision of Thee and of the Father and the Son. Amen. Seventh Day Let us Pray: Come, O Spirit of Counsel, help and guide me in all ways, that I may always do Thy Will. Incline my heart to that which is good; turn it away from all that is evil, and direct me by the straight path of Thy commandments to that goal of eternal life for which I long. Amen. Eighth Day Let us Pray: Come, O Spirit of Wisdom, and reveal to my soul the mysteries of Heavenly things, their exceeding greatness, power, and beauty. Teach me to love them above all passing joys and satisfactions of earth. Help me to attain them and possess them forever. Amen. Ninth Day Let us Pray: Come, O Divine Spirit, fill my heart with Thy heavenly fruits: Thy charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, faith, mildness, modesty, continence, longsuffering and temperance, that I may never weary in the service of God, but by continual obedience to the counsels of the Church which prompt faithful submission to Thy inspiration may merit to be united eternally with Thee in the love of the Father and the Son. 8 Pray for the Seven Gifts of the Spirit O LORD, Jesus, Through you I humbly beg the merciful Father to send the Holy Spirit of grace, That he may bestow upon us this sevenfold gifts. May he send us the gift of wisdom which will make us relish the Tree of Life That is none other than yourself; The gift of understanding which will enlighten us; The gift of counsel which will guide us in the way of righteousness; and the of fortitude which will give us the strength of vanquish the enemies of our sanctification and salvation. May he impart to us the gift of knowledge which will enable us to discern your teaching And distinguish good from evil; The gift of piety Which will make us enjoy true peace; and the gift of fear which will make us shun all iniquity and avoid all danger of offending your Majesty. 9 Prayer for the Twelve Fruits of the Spirit Holy Spirit, eternal Love of the Father and the Son, kindly bestow on us the fruit of charity, that we may be united to you by divine love; the fruit of joy that we may be filled with holy consolation; the fruit of peace, that we may enjoy tranquility of soul; and the fruit of patience, that we may endure humbly everything that may be opposed to our own desires. Divine Spirit, Be pleased to infuse in us the fruit of benignity, that we may willingly relieve our neighbor s necessities; the fruit of goodness, that we may be benevolent toward all; the fruit of longanimity, that we may not be discouraged by delay but may persevere in prayer; and the fruit of mildness, that we may subdue every rising of ill temper, stifle every murmur, and repress the susceptibilities of our nature in all our dealing with our neighbor. 9

10 Prayer to the Holy Ghost O Holy Ghost, Soul of my soul, I adore Thee, I love Thee, I praise Thee, I thank Thee. Enlighten, guide, strengthen, console me. Inspire me what I ought to do, and command me to do it. I promise to be submissive in everything that Thou permittest to happen to me; only show me Thy holy will, and fill me with Thy grace and Thy love to refuse Thee nothing, no matter how difficult it may be. I abandon myself entirely to Thee through Mary. Strengthen my will to carry out all my resolutions, and give me the grace of perseverance. Teach me how to pray. Grant me the grace to pray with unlimited confidence of being heard, according to God's holy will. Give me true humility of heart. Increase and strengthen my faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Make me an ardent adorer and lover of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Strengthen my love and confidence in our Blessed Mother. Holy Ghost, I offer Thee the loving Heart of Jesus to repair for all my offenses and negligences. I consecrate myself unreservedly to Thee, through Mary, Thy Immaculate Spouse. I place all my trust in Thee. Help me to make Thee better known and loved throughout the world. Give me an intense zeal for souls, to console Jesus. Amen. 10

11 Prayer for the Propagation of the Faith O HOLY Spirit, you desire the salvation of all human beings and for that purpose you want all of them to acquire the knowledge of your Truth. grant to all of them your powerful Light and your Love of Goodwill that they may give glory to God in unity of faith, hope, and love. Send laborers into the harvest who are truly animated by you who are the Soul of the missionary Church. Closing Hymn O Comforter, to Thee we cry, Thou heavn'ly Gift of God most high; Thou fount of life and fire of love, and sweet anointing from above and sweet anointing from above. 11
