1 RESERVOIR STIMULATION FracSure Fluid Systems Stimulation technologies that improve production, prevent formation damage, and minimize environmental impact
2 Better production begins with the right stimulation method. Stimulation isn t a one-size-fits-all solution. Many factors including the geologic characteristics of your reservoir, the specific application, and local regulations affect your approach. As a single-source provider of integrated stimulation services, Weatherford offers a complete portfolio of stimulation technologies and equipment that addresses a range of conditions in both conventional and unconventional formations. Whatever your stimulation needs are, we have a solution that we will implement safely, efficiently, and cost effectively. Improve Production and Project Economics Using the right stimulation method in your reservoir improves efficiency and productivity. You can stimulate faster, avoid formation damage, minimize downtime, and recover more hydrocarbons in less time. And by giving you the option to replace the fresh water in your stimulation fluid with produced water that is filtered on-site, we provide you with total wellsite efficiency and help you reduce freshwater transportation costs. Protect the Environment Recovering our natural resources shouldn t harm our environment or communities. That s why we develop stimulation fluids that are hazard free and easy to clean out. All of our fluids are water based and incorporate only food-grade stimulation ingredients, such as guar. We treat our fluids with safe chemical additives and drinking-water-grade biocides that eliminate performance inhibitors and bacteria without causing contamination. Additionally, we give you the option to use produced water in your stimulation fluid so you can conserve the freshwater supply; avoid the vehicle traffic, fuel consumption, and emissions associated with transporting fresh water; and reduce your underground wastewater disposal. Avoid Nonproductive Time with Premier Equipment Our field-proven experience enables us to expedite rig-up and execution while minimizing our time on location. We maintain one of the industry s newest, most robust stimulation fleets, and our rigorous, proactive maintenance and inspection program keeps our equipment operating at peak condition. This reduces downtime associated with older equipment so that your operation stays on schedule. Select the right fluid every time with confidence. In addition to providing a broad array of stimulation fluids, we help you decide which one is right for your well. We deploy our unique and proprietary software to analyze formation evaluation, surface logging, and microseismic data; identify high-producing zones; and provide a dynamic 3D view of your reservoir in real time. With this information, you can analyze reservoir characteristics in the precise spot where stimulation will occur and deploy the fluid that will deliver the best results Weatherford. 4 Comprehensive Stimulation Technologies Producing the latest technological innovations while focusing on efficiency and environmental sensitivity, we deliver the right stimulation solution for your reservoir. Complementing our robust R&D program, our dedicated team of chemists, engineers, and technicians leverage their global experience to ensure your stimulation fluids and additives are designed and blended with absolute accuracy from the onset. WaterSure Technology Enables stimulation using 100% produced water 0% fresh water WaterSure Technology Reuse your wastewater as a key ingredient in stimulation fluids that perform reliably in a variety of downhole conditions, while conserving the local freshwater supply and reducing your costs. Using any available produced water at your wellsite filtered or unfiltered we add an environmentally friendly gelling agent and crosslinker. More advanced treatment to eliminate bacteria is available in combination with our CleanSure chlorine dioxide service. The result is WaterSure low-residue stimulation fluids, which are impervious to flowback additives or to waters high in salinity, total dissolved solids (TDS), divalent ions, and boron. Additionally, WaterSure fluids have built-in scale protection to minimize formation damage and to maximize fracturing efficiency. DynaFrac Fluid System Developed specifically for horizontal well completions, including shale and lowpermeability formations, DynaFrac fluid is a low-polymer, borate-crosslinked fracturing fluid with the versatility to run in either hybrid applications or crosslink fluid-only jobs. The fluid carries proppant through perforations and into the formation, where it degrades while leaving a clean, residuefree wellbore and formation for subsequent plug-and-perf operations. DynaFrac technology combines multiple crosslinking and ph-buffering additives into a single, simplified, high-performance system. This combination reduces the amount of chemicals you need on-site and enables more environmentally friendly and less logistically complex operations. SpearHead Technique Increased production by 20% for 18 to 24 months SpearHead Pulsed-Fluid Pillar-Fracturing Technique The SpearHead technique involves pumping fluid and proppant downhole in timed pulses to create layers of agglomerated proppant and fluid in fracturing channels. Our environmentally safe surface-modification agent (SMA) dramatically improves proppant agglomeration. As a result, the SMA enables the formation of crush-resistant, stable pillars or proppant clusters that hold fractures open longer than fractures created by other systems. The clusters of agglomerated particles create a highly conductive, long-lasting hydrocarbon flow channel for maximum reservoir drainage. MagnumFrac Fluid System Clean, powerful, and stable, MagnumFrac fracturing fluids provide higher conductivity and increased production under even the toughest conditions. Made with a refined, low-residue CMHPG (carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar) gelling agent and zirconate crosslinkers, this system yields excellent fluid stability in applications up to 400 F (204 C) and can be continuously or batch mixed. These versatile fluids can be paired with fresh water, potassium chloride (KCl) or KCl substitutes, and light brines. For more sensitive formations, a low-ph system is available that can be used alone or with carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) Weatherford. All rights reserved.
5 Additional Fluid Systems SureSlick Fluid System These slickwater fracturing fluids deliver high performance with low friction and have a proven track record in unconventional reservoirs. AquaVis Gel System Our clean, linear gel systems are composed of either natural guar or low-residue HPG (hydroxypropyl guar). AcidSure Stimulation Services We customize gelled acidizing systems to suit your stimulation application, formation characteristics, and well conditions. Our comprehensive acidizing services include hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, and organic systems. TBlockSure Agent The TBlockSure diverting agent maximizes the number of perforation clusters along target intervals and improves production rates when fracturing, refracturing, or working over multistage wells. Made of a proprietary, two-particle mesh, the agent is pumped downhole with fracturing fluid. Once in place, the agent forms an enhanced seal over natural or hydraulically induced fractures so that fracturing fluid is directed to target areas and new fractures can be initiated. Compared to traditional diverters, the seal is much less permeable and withstands treatment pressures. The mesh dissolves at a predetermined time depending on bottomhole temperature and ph, which eliminates the need for many bridge plugs, minimizes cleanup, and reduces plug mill-out time. ZetaFlow Solution Useful for many formation types that include sandstone, coal, and shale, the unique ZetaFlow chemical solution improves proppant conductivity, controls the movement of formation sand and fines that hinder production flow, and enhances the load recovery of treatment fluids during flowback operations. By modifying the zeta potential of the formation or proppant surfaces and fines and by bringing them to near-neutral values, the proppant conductivity increases and the fines bind together and fix in place to avoid flow restriction. This system leaves formations in the optimal wetted condition for increased load recovery and reduces proppant flowback problems. CleanSure Chlorine Dioxide Service Our CleanSure chlorine dioxide service offers advanced treatment of produced water used in stimulation fluids and is an option with our WaterSure technology. The addition of chlorine dioxide (ClO 2 ) an environmentally friendly alternative to more traditional biocides to filtered or unfiltered produced water kills bacteria that can sour wells. ClO 2 also helps to decrease reservoir pressure and to improve formation permeability, wetness, and porosity, which can increase production rates. ClO 2 won t affect the ph balance in a well or react with most organics and ammonia. We choose ClO 2 as a biocide because the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes it as a powerful yet safe water disinfectant per the Safe Water Drinking Act (SWDA) of TBlockSure Agent Achieved 1,000 psi diversion before treatment, and 6,500 psi breakdown pressure during refracturing ZetaFlow Solution Eliminated post-treatment sand production while helping to deliver gas production of 2,180 Mcf/D and provided a cost-effective alternative to resin-coated proppant treatments 2015 Weatherford.
