2 PUMPS Technical terms and acronyms: Ampere (A) Measurement of the electric current. Operating point A pumps operating point is the intersection point of head (H) and flow rate (Q) on the performance curve. Candela (CD) Measurement of luminous intensity. Stainless steel (SS) Ensures long-term resistance against acid corrosion. HPFI relay Safety relay. Water head (H) Measured in meter of water or in bar, 1 bar = 10 m of water. Flow rate (Q) Measured in litre pr. minute (l/min) or litre pr. hour (l/h) Threaded coupling (BSP) Straight threaded coupling measured in inches. Inner diameter (ID) The inside diameter of a pipe. Outer diameter (OD) The outside diameter of a pipe. Meter of water column (MWC) Top of a water column in m. 1 MWC = 0,1 bar. Oxide ceramic Special ceramic material, which includes alumina zirconia, silicia, aluminium silicate, magnesia and other metal oxide based materials. W W= watt is the measurement for the power consumption of a product. All values for fountain nozzles are approx. values: H = Height in cm. Ø = Diameter of the nozzle or water column in cm & mm. Height and diameter of the water column may vary due to individual installation conditions and different water qualities. NB: Electrical installations must at least be placed 2 m from the pond edge in a dry area and have to be protected by a grounded GFCI outlet of max 30 ma. Aqua Tech products are manufactured according to the European regulations for product liability. The products meet all existing requirements for products for hobby use, such as pond pumps. Products marked with this label are tested and approved by TÜV, which is the German electricity and safety control institution. The pump is certified as a save product. Standard safety tests, made by the German engineering association and carefully reviewed and verified at the production site. The pump is equipped with an automatic thermal security device, which disconnects the pump at overheating and / or blocking. That ensures a long lifetime of the product. This mark indicates that the pump can be dry mounted, however the inlet connector has always to be 20 cm under the water level. Remember to mount a prefilter with 8 mm holes to avoid damages. The pump can easily save up to 40% of the power consumption, which usually is needed for the transportation of the indicated quantity of water compared to other pond pumps. Aqua Tech offers an extension warranty period of 3 years on this product - in total 5 years. However you have to comply with the described warranty rules and submit the certificate of warranty. The pumps can stay in the garden pond in winter, when they are placed at a minimum depth of 80 cm and when they get operated at least once a month for about 10 minutes. The product can be recycled and is included to the return procedure of the producer and may not be disposed in the normal refuse, but has to be delivered to a dealer or a recycling-station. Mark for low power consumption at maximum load of the pump. Often the power consumption is even lower when the pump is operated according to the operating instructions. The pump can transport dirt particles up to 8 mm size through the impeller system without effecting the water flow and the capacity. Chapter 2 page 2

7 CBX pumps are highly developed fountain pumps in stainless steel, which meet the technical requirements of water flow and pressure in larger fountain-systems and installations. CBX pumps represent the new generation of highly efficient flow- and pressure pumps, which optimize a perfect pressure due to there innovative rotor-system with up to 10 impellers. CBX pumps are supplied with a pre-filter in stainless steel (particle size 8 mm), which surrounds the pump completely. The pumps have to be installed under water and may never run dry. 8 LEZ pumps are especially suitable for dry mounting and when an extra powerful pump is needed. LEZ pumps can also be used in Spa- or Pool systems because they have a very quiet operation. LEZ pumps are also very suitable for the operation of buried filter systems, as they pump the water back into the pond or waterfall without any problems. LEZ pumps have a quiet operation and all parts are IP 55 protected, so that the pumps can be installed outdoors. 9 LEQ pumps are equipped with an extra large filter and especially designed for fountains, koi-ponds, swimming ponds and swimming pools. LEQ pumps can be used in big fountain systems and also as a great pre-filter in larger fountains, which require an extra delivery head and capacity. LEQ pumps are also very suitable for the operation of buried filter systems where it is a "must" that water flow and pressure are sufficient. LEQ pumps have a quiet operation and all parts are IP 55 protected, so that the pumps can be installed outdoors.
