2 December, 4th 2015 Hello Auntie Carol, VOB Country and Cave Shepherd Here are my Christmas Wishes Firstly, I wish for puzzles with animal themes, books, stationery and craft supplies and I know that Cave Shepherd has loads of these items. Whenever, I go to Bridgetown with my mom I always go to Cave Shepherd and I usually end up in the book section. I never leave without begging my mom for a book or two and she will normally purchase a book for me. I just LOVE books! Secondly, for my family, I would like us to have good health and a stronger relationship with God. We would support each other in every possible way and surely God will help us. Thirdly, for my country Barbados, I wish for lesser violence and lesser child abuse and my country to be more prosperous than in recent years so that taxes can be decreased. Finally, for the world, I wish for peace amongst all nations. God made this world for peace and we destroyed it with all this war. The heart of mankind would need to change in order for this to happen and there be nothing God cannot do. I know that Cave Shepherd could only grant me the first wish. However, God will take care of the rest. Christmas is a time when you should think about others besides yourself. Therefore, I am planning to give a gift to a needy child every year from now on and Cave Shepherd would certainly help me achieve this along with my some of my savings from my piggy bank. 3 My name is Shanyah and I am 10 years old. At present I am a class 4 student of the St. Lawrence Primary School. My Christmas wish this year would be to get a Samsung Tablet. This would help me to research for my projects and also assignments throughout my school life, especially for Social Studies. To me it would be really helpful and useful as I go on to secondary school. If you all be kind and give it to me as a surprise I would thank you very much for it. So thank you for it. Shanyah

4 My name is Domani and I am 11 years old. At present I am a 1st form student of the Lodge School. Although my greatest Christmas wish this year would be to have a laptop which would help me a lot now that I am in secondary school and because there are a lot of online projects and research papers which I have to do every week, I believe that my biggest wish would be to thank and show my appreciation to a few persons who would have helped to mentor and shape me into who I am today. These persons would be My parents, Mrs. Oxley my lessons teacher who helped me build my grades as I prepare for Common Entrance, Aunties Dawn, Gloria, Donna, Michelle and Charmaine who would have helped me all through my primary school and now my secondary education and continues to have faith and confidence in me. 5 November 25th 2015 Dear Reader My name is Kaycia and I am nine years of age. I attend the St. Giles Primary School in the Ivy St. Michael and I am a student in class 3- Diamond. I am also a member of Tasha s Birthday club at Cave Shepherd. My favorite subject at school is Grammar. My hobbies are drawing, sketching and coloring. When I grow up I would like to become an artist. I want to become an artist so I can make a gallery of my paintings and put them in a hall and display them. Also to earn money to make a living. I love Christmas because it is a special time of the year for me as I get to open my presents from under the Christmas tree. I also like Christmas because my family and I get to decorate the Christmas tree and in the afternoon on Christmas day we attend family lunch at my grandfather s house in St. Joseph. This year my Christmas wish is to own a Barbie doll house and Barbie car. I would like these gifts because when I was younger I always admired Barbie dolls and Barbie life in the dream house and always wanted to have my own, but unfortunately my mother was not able to purchase them for me, so when I heard the commercial on the radio, I saw it as an opportunity of having my wish finally come true. 6 Dear Santa, My Christmas wish is for world peace and that ISIS would stop beheading people and start believing in God. Dear Santa, I feel you have the power to change all this but if you can t I hope to help bring about peace in a small way. With the help of an Apple I-Pad 6 or a Samsung S6 Tablet, I can send messages of hope to children in the world to start a chain link for peace. In Barbados, I can send messages to adults to stop being violent and change the crime situation here. Santa, we can send messages in the form of dance, music, drama and poetry and together we can show ISIS what peace really means to every boy and girl. 7 December 2, 2015 Dear Voice of Barbados, I have two wishes and I know they will be hard to fill. The first is that my Nans is awaiting a knee replacement and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital keeps putting it on hold or cancelling. I really miss doing things with Nans because she can t get around. Even climbing the bus stairs is hard. We use to go to the beach and just get the bus and visit places. The second is my Nans is 81 years old and she has promised God s willing to take me to England with her. I was born here in Barbados so was she, but spent more than thirty years in England before returning in I know deep down she is afraid to travel alone because of her hearing, sight and knee and I would also love to visit the rest of my family over there. I know these are tall orders, but in case they cannot be filled I will understand. So instead I would love to have my own veterinary clinic when I grow up. Mummy has tried to find a clinic I can spend some time with in my vacation with no success. So that would be something I would also love to do. Love Lauryn

8 My wish is to never get sick on Christmas Day ever again. Every year my mummy and I pray that we will not have to spend Christmas in the hospital again. My name is Khya. I am six years old. In 2011 I woke up Christmas morning, I went to church with my family and we came home happy because we were going to open lots of gifts. Just as I was about to open my gifts I got ill. My mummy rushed me to the hospital, I was very sick. I could not eat or play, we stood there for a week. I love Christmas and I want to spend all my Christmas at home not in hospital. I hope that this year Cave Shepherd and VOB Country make my Christmas extra special by putting a sparkle in my eye.
