1 Ordination Ceremony A Guide to Anointing One of the greatest advantages of Ministry is your autonomy to self-govern. It brings the ability to license and ordain ministers in accordance with the convictions of the leadership's heart. When licensing, one must keep in mind that it is God who ordains and man simply recognizes what God has already done. The government accepts it as valid and allows the person to exercise the rights and privileges that come with being a licensed or ordained minister. While religious organizations may designate persons as ministers for their religious purposes free from any governmental interference, such a designation does not necessarily determine their legal or tax status. No court will interfere with a church s decision to designate anyone as a minister. However, the courts are not bound by such ecclesiastical designations in defining the term minister for legal or tax purposes.

2 Welcome Introduction: Welcome to today s Ordination Ceremony hosted by Messages of Faith Ministry and Chaplaincy division. We thank the East Las Vegas Christian Center Sanctuary and Pastor Troy Martinez for their continued partnership with the Chaplains Ordination. We congratulate each Chaplain for accepting their calling and journey of clergy through their Ordination, and we welcome your family and friends in joining you in this blessed and joyous occasion and ceremony. Sanctuary Blessing/ Scripture: Isaiah 56:7 These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. -We welcome you to the House of the Lord and we ask Father God to pour out his blessings over this Sanctuary and upon each one of us, as it hosts His Chaplains Ordination here today. Matthew 10:40 Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Amen Invocation Prayer: Ministry Prayer Almighty God, giver of all good things, by your Holy Spirit you have appointed various orders of ministry with in your church. Look in mercy on these your servants now called as Chaplains, and fill them with the truth of your doctrine and clothe them with holiness of life, so that by your Word and example they may faithfully serve you in this calling to the glory of your name, and for the up-building of your church through the merits of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you, and the Holy Spirit, now and for-ever. Amen. Opening Scripture: 1 st Timothy 3 Today we gather to receive these persons into the Ministry of Chaplaincy. Father God, I present to you these persons to be ordained as Chaplains, this day of November 11th, in the Year of Our Lord 2012, by the office of, Messages of Faith Ministry, Chaplaincy division, in the City of Las Vegas, and the State of Nevada.

3 (Chaplain Names listed here) After requirements and examination they are found fit for, and called to this Anointing of Chaplaincy. Chaplains are ministers called to serve God's people as commissioned by the sacred Word of God. But if any one of you knows a reason why these persons should not be received into this divine plan, come forward and make known that reason. The calling of ministry is both excellent and difficult; be thankful to God for your calling and carefully apply yourself to your anointed duties and study. Take care not to offend, nor to cause others to sin. Only God can give you the desire and ability to do these things. You need therefore to pray earnestly for his Holy Spirit. And because there is no other way of leading men to salvation except through His Word, and the Acceptance and Receiving of our Lord Jesus Christ into your life. For he was born to rescue you, died to save you, and rose to give you eternal life. For this reason you must forsake all worldly cares and concerns that hinder you from your calling. Q: Do you Agree and Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? We are persuaded that you have carefully considered these things, and that you are clearly determined by God's grace to give yourselves wholeheartedly to this Anointing through your calling into Chaplaincy Ordination. Therefore continually pray to God the Father by the mediation of our only Savior Jesus Christ for the heavenly assistance of the Holy Spirit so that through daily reading and meditation on the Scriptures, you will grow as a Chaplain, endeavor to sanctify and shape your lives and those of your families according to the rule and teaching of Christ and be wholesome and godly examples for the people to follow. May your commitment to Christ's people be assured of your determination to do these things and so that you re public commitment to them may strengthen your resolve to do your duty. Please answer these questions, which I, representative through Christ our Lord, now put to you: Do you believe that you are truly called, according to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ through the ordaining of Chaplaincy? Do you believe that the Holy Scriptures contain all truths that is necessary for eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ? And are you determined to teach the people committed to your

4 charge from those Scriptures? Will you carefully and faithfully minister the doctrine and sacraments, and the discipline of Christ, as the Lord has commanded, and according to the commandments of God? And will you teach the people committed to your care to keep and observe them carefully? Will you be ready and careful to banish and drive away all wrong and strange doctrines that are contrary to God's Word? Will you be diligent in prayer, in the reading of the Holy Scriptures, and in those studies that help you to a fuller knowledge of them, turning away from worldly and unworthy concerns? Will you strive to live according to the teaching of Christ so that you and your family will be good examples to the flock of Christ? Will you maintain and promote to the best of your ability faith, peace, hope, and love among all Christians, but especially among those committed to your charge? Will you reverently listen those over you in Christ s church, gladly and willingly accepting Godly counsel? Prayer Almighty God, who has given you the will to do all these things, grant you strength and power to perform them so that he may complete the work which he has begun in you through Jesus Christ our Lord.
