Mystery of the Anointing
Matthew 13 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Matthew 3:11 "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Mark 1:8 "I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." Is this the Anointing?
Prayer brings on the anointing for whatever situation we are in!
The anointing is for ministry, be it speaking or praying, and comes out of being yielded to the Holy Spirit for the specific occasion. However, the way we live our lives also affects the anointing. Our lifestyle should be pleasing to God. We need to be disciplined in our daily life, not by falling into a routine, which would be another trap, but to be increasingly aware of God's still small voice calling me to prayer, repentance and/or action.
Psalm 92:10 10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. 1 John But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Jesus Christ is THE anointed One, however, Christians have Christ inside, spiritually. "Christ in you, the hope of glory.
2 Corinthians 1: Now he which stablishethus with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Acts 2:38 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Colossians 2:10 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Philippians 2:13 13 For it is God which workethin you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. The Bible teaches that God "Works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." The word translated 'works means that God energizes (motivates) within. This same word is used in: 1 Corinthians 12:6: "And there are distinctive varieties of operation [of working to accomplish things], but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes them all in all."
Some may ask, "Is it all right to minister if one doesn t feel the anointing? Thoughts: I believe that the answer is "Yes." This is what I believe God has to say about this: each anointing is of Me and what you feel, or anyone else feels might vary, but it is a sign of My presence and power to move in manifestations of My gifts and love. Be aware of my presence! You will always know that I am there. Realize this, however, that it takes even greater faith to step out when you don t feel the anointing. After all, nothing is going to happen unless I am in it and it s not your responsibility to make things happen. That s My job. Your work or part is to believe as avessel-whether you think you are worthy, or not. As some say; "Just do it!" As you do "the stuff" your faith will increase and results will come."
Learning How to hear Gods Voice AND WALK IN THE ANOINTING: Habakkuk 2 1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readethit. Habakkuk knew the sound of God's voice. Elijah described it as a still, small voice (I Kings 19:12).
Key #1: Learning to listen Psalm 46:10 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. There is a deep inner knowing (spontaneous flow) in our spirits that each of us can experience when we quiet our flesh and our minds. God's voice in our hearts sounds like a flow of spontaneous thoughts. Listen for thoughts that are out of place!
Listening for Gods Voice: Spirit-level communication is received as spontaneous thoughts, impressions, feelings, and visions. The Bible confirms this in many ways: The definition of paga, the Hebrew word for intercession, is "a chance encounter or an accidental intersecting." When God lays people on our hearts for intercession, He does it through paga, a chanceencounter (thought), accidentally intersecting our thought processes. Therefore, when we tune to God (meditate on Him or listen for Him to speak)), we tune to chanceencounter thoughts or spontaneous thoughts.
Key #2: Learn to still your thoughts and emotions, so that you can sense God's flow of thoughts and emotions within yourself. 2 Kings 3:15 15But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. After worshiping, become silent within, open yourself for that spontaneous flow. If thoughts come of things you have forgotten to do, write them down don t dismiss them. If thoughts of guilt or unworthiness come, repent thoroughly, receive the washing of the blood of the Lamb, putting on His robe of righteousness, seeing yourself spotless before God.
Key #3: As you pray, fix the eyes of your heart upon Jesus, seeing in the Spirit the dreams and visions of Almighty God. Habakkuk said, "I will keep watch to see," and God said, "Record the vision" (Hab. 2:1,2). Habakkuk was actually looking for a vision as he prayed. He opened the eyes of his heart, and looked into the spirit world to see what God wanted to show him.
Acts 2:17 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Jesus demonstrated the ability of living out of constant contact with God, declaring that He did nothing on His own initiative, but only what He saw the Father doing, and heard the Father saying(jn. 5:19,20,30).
Key #4 Journaling, the writing out of your prayers and God s answers, brings great freedom in hearing God s voice. God told Habakkuk to record the vision (Hab. 2:2). This was not an isolated command. The Scriptures record many examples of individual s prayers and God s replies (e.g. the Psalms, many of the prophets, Revelation).
Important note: I know that what I believe I have received from God must be tested. However, testing involves doubt and doubt blocks divine communication, so I do not want to test while I am trying to receive. With writing down the thoughts that come into my mind, I can receive in faith, knowing that when the flow has ended I can test and examine it carefully, making sure that it lines up with Scripture.
I John 4:1-3 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseththat Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confessethnot that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spiritof antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Hebrews 10: Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saiththe Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
