2 INTRODUCTION The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), licensed by the Engineering Council, accredits programmes that either partially, or fully, meet the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration. UNDERSTANDING THE DATA It is important to note that this is a list of the currently academic programmes. As a general rule, students starting their degrees prior to September 2011 should contact the academic accreditation mailbox to check the accreditation status of the programme at the time of enrolment. Alternatively historical information can be found by searching the Engineering Council database. HEI Name Title Name of the University or College that delivers the programme. This column indicates whether the programme is an MEng, MSci, MSc, BEng (Hons), BEng,, BSci, BSc, Foundation Degree, HND or HNC. This title needs to match exactly to the title that will be or has been issued on your degree certificate. This column indicates the way in which the programme is delivered. FT= Full time study, PT= Part time study, SW= with sandwich year, DL= Distance Learning. The entries in this column indicate whether the programme is for IEng or CEng registration. If a programme is for partial CEng it also meets the full educational requirements for IEng. A tick () in this column indicates that the programme partially fulfils the educational requirements for IEng or CEng registration. To fully meet the educational requirements for IEng registration further at Bachelors level (or equivalent) is. To fully meet the educational requirements for CEng registration further to Masters level (or equivalent) is. A tick () in this column indicates that the programme partially fulfils the educational requirements for IEng or CEng registration, but as a programme. For IEng this is normally delivered by BEng or BSc top-up programmes. For CEng this is normally delivered by MSc programmes. It is important to note that formal education is the usual though not the only way to demonstrate further for registration purposes. This is the last academic year that the programme is for. For example if the year entered is 2010, students starting in the 2011 academic year are not yet covered by the accreditation and it is likely that the programme is due for re accreditation. s currently under review by the IET have been marked with a single asterisk (*).
