4 Carole Clegg, former staff member Second reading: A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Colossians Giving thanks to God the Father through Christ You are God s chosen race, his saints, he loves you, and you should be clothed in sincere compassion, in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another, forgive each other as soon as a quarrel begins. The Lord has forgiven you; now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, to keep them together and complete them, put on love. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called together as parts of one body. Always be thankful. Let the message of Christ, in all its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise each other in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and never say or do anything except in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Mystery of Faith: We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again. 7 The Communion Rite At the Saviour s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say: Our Father The Bishop continues Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit We offer each other the sign of peace During the breaking of the host the following is said: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: Have mercy on us.
