3 Requirements Changes A Letter of Clarification was signed on 01 Feb 2012 that instituted a number of changes to the original Third Echelon Test Set (TETS) Operational Requirements Document (ORD) Additional clarification is pending which will remove the stand alone Synchro/Resolver Simulator variant The Marine Corps ATE Program name is no longer TETS; it is now General Purpose Automatic Test Systems (GPATS) System variants were redefined based on current support requirements A requirement for networking ATE systems was added Allowance and distribution changes of ATE will change based on the consolidation two of (2) system variants: RF and EO systems 3

4 Requirements Changes (cont d) Large platform ATE system variants will be defined as follows: Radio Frequency (RF) Variant Will support radio, artillery, and radar systems Will support analog/digital testing of electronic modules/cca s Electro-Optic (EO) Variant Will support handheld/weapon-mounted optics and laser devices Will potentially support ELRF and turret mounted sight systems Will support analog/digital testing of electronic modules Distribution of systems is being restructured based on the redefined capability sets 4

5 Requirements Changes (cont d) Participating in a Joint effort called Next Generation Operations Management System (NxOMS) to establish the following capabilities: Task Scheduling (TS), Managed Services (MS), and distributed Message Communication Framework (MCF) Currently working through IA compliance procedures with the intent to establish a viable network solution for GPATS and GRMATS 5

6 Large ATE Overview Radio Frequency (RF) Variant AN/USM-717(V)2 VIPER/T (DME) RF Variant AN/USM-657B(V)2 RF TETS (ManTech) RF Variant Systems are form, fit, functionally the same IC and PDU Upgrades for TETS Support Test Program Sets that require RF capabilities in addition to analog/digital (210) total RF systems in inventory 6

7 Large ATE Overview Electro-Optic (EO) Variant AN/USM-717(V)3 VIPER/T (DME) EO Variant Consists of a core test system with Electro-Optic subsystem Supports testing of handheld/ weapon-mounted day/night optics and laser aiming devices (38) total EO systems in inventory Legacy TETS EO systems have been retired 7

8 GRMATS Ground Radio Maintenance Automatic Test System (GRMATS) AN/USM-718 (68) systems delivered in 2007 and fielded to support urgent requirement for softwaredefined radio test support Multiple Test Programs developed and fielded AN/USM-718 (ATS2000) AN/USM-718A (453) systems delivered Initial fielding is complete. General fielding will begin 3rd quarter FY 13. AN/USM-718A (CATS) 8

18 USMC Future Test Activities EO Test Requirements Common EO Tester prototype developed to assist in determining feasibility for a portable, stand-alone EO Test System Downsized Laser Tester (DLT) Develop a portable Laser Test Capability to support fielded laser aiming devices Contract awarded to Santa Barbara Infrared Validating requirements for a stand-alone controller, power supply and instrumentation solution to utilize with existing VIPER/T EO collimators. 18
