13 URBANISM GENERAL After doing the reaserch of the site, we found out that our goal should not be just in making high technology houses with great energy efficiency. We are implanting new settlement in existing envirionment, which should connect and improve living conditions of those who already live in surroundings. Observations: - lack of public program - need for improved public transport - lack of entertainment and sport facilities - lack of cultural events RIGHT/ After analysing the morphology of wider area, we implied form of clusters, which is present in soroundings. 14 URBANISM INFRASTRUCTURE A sustainable village should reduce the need to travel; where travel is necessary, opportunities to walk, cycle and use public transport should be maximised. Walking and cycling in particular should be encouraged. This not only reduces pollution but is also an important element of building community cohesion; a neighbourhood within which people feel comfortable walking will facilitate more social interaction. We added minimal road infrastructure only to connect clusters to the existing road. At first we considered of implieing additional connecting road but after rethinking, we decided not to add it to enhance pedestrian activity and social interaction so people would rather walk from cluster to cluster, than drive by car. Our infrastructure provides: decreased amount of space between clusters for vehicles and maximise space for pedestrians, pedestrian roads are programed car free clusters, public transport is available and access to shops and other facilities is possible by walking or cycling. This creates a residential environment within which public space is more user friendly in general and child friendly in particular.

This not only reduces pollution but is also an important element of building community cohesion; a neighbourhood within which people feel comfortable walking will facilitate more social interaction.

15 SOCIAL ASPECT Ideally, settlements in rural areas and neighbourhoods in urban areas should be made to function as a community. We tried to make sense to public-private relationships, offer access to services, provide infrastructure, shops, entertainment, employment and facilitate the creation and maintenance of supportive social networks. We tried to provide mixed community in different aspects (income levels, family types and age groups). 20 TECHNOLOGY Technology is a very important tool which helps us to achieve sustainable development where we deal with ecology and ecosystems. Main subjects are energy, water, transport and agriculture systems which are integrated to maximize use of local resources to the greatest extent, including the use of waste streams from these systems. The concept of technologies in our project is to: - use renewable resources (sunlight, wind, rain, fertilisers...) to provide electricity and water supplies - reduce and recycle of waste We have explaied the system of technology in our village on the house, cluster and village level with schemes and on the master plan. 21 ELECTRICITY To provide house with electricity we use solar panels, demensions 0.9x1.6m, which produce 250W. One family needs 3-4kW electricity, so we need 16 panels per house. Electricity goes from solar panels into house mains and is than saved in batteries. On canopy there are fotovoltaic panels which produce electricity from which the cars are charged.

22 TECHNOLOGY WATER We get drinking water mainly from rain water and if this is not enough, we get it from underground water. This water is used for showering, cooking, cleaning,... The waste of this water goes to the cleaning system of gray water. This is the tank with three ventricles in which water is being cleaned by compresed air and UV light. Refined water is used for toilet flushing. 23 All the sewerage from clusters goes to vegetational waste water treatment plant. This is a natural cleaning system. Size of the plant depends on number of people (2.5 m2 on one people), in our case this plant would have around 500m2. This cleaning system have different beds. First is settler bed, next to is compost bed, where we get compost. Than the water is cleaned trough the filter bed, cleaning bed, polishing bed and in the end clean water come to the pool for the multupurpose of water. From this pool we can use water for watering fields, extinguishing fire,... The overflow of the water goes back to the ground. 24 TECHNOLOGY HEATING For heating we use heating pump water/water (118kW), which is sufficient for up to 10 houses. It is located in the service facillity of the cluster. 25 WASTE SEGREGATION There are 4 different waste tanks. Bottles, paper and plastic are transported to lacal deponie, organic waste is used for compost and biogas. Compost is used for agriculture. 26 ARCHITECTURE Typology Typology of the house is simple and very flexible. The basic L shape is composed of the residence part (depository, toilet, kitchen, living room) and master bedroom. To that L shape you can add new volume (children s room, office) in case you need more space
