NLCI are vested in delivering first-class coaching to help clients achieve their goals. We strive to have coaches who are 100% committed to the standards set forth by NLCI and to you, our clients. Experience has proven that referrals are the life-blood of NLCI. We know our life-coaching training cannot exist without people like you. Thus, we are asking you to refer your family, co-workers, neighbors, friends and acquaintances to New Life Coach Inc. 4 WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF COACHING! Please review the following before your first coaching session and contact your coach if you have questions. CLIENT POLICIES & PROCEDURES Welcome! YOUR NLCI coach looks forward to working with you in receiving the most out of the next six weeks. To maintain a successful coaching relationship, please review the following policies and procedures. If you have any questions about them, please them to your coach. FEE Life coaching is pro-bono for NLCI clients. CALLS Please call your coach at the scheduled time at the number he or she gives you. If you prefer, and your coach agrees, he or she may call you at a number you provide. This must be arranged in advance. CHANGES If you need to reschedule, give your coach at least a 24-hour notice. If you have an emergency, you and your coach will find a way to reschedule. If you must cancel WITHIN the 24-hours of your session, your coach may not be able to reschedule, so please make every effort to stay within these guidelines. MISSED CALLS If you are more than 15 minutes late for a call, your coach will assume the session is canceled, and will not be rescheduled. In the case of an emergency, your coach will do what is reasonable to be flexible. If you are late for the call, the session will still end at the designated time. You may cancel and reschedule no more than two sessions. If you miss more than the two sessions, you will be terminated as a client. After six months, you may re-apply to participate in the life-coaching program. PROBLEMS If, at any time, your coach says something that is upsetting, or does not feel right to you, please discuss it with them immediately. In the event this discussion does not resolve the issue, you may contact us at newlifecoachinc@aol.com. We are committed to providing a coaching partnership that is productive, rewarding, safe and FUN for you. Communication is the key to making this happen.
5 New Life Coach Inc. GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR COACHING RELATIONSHIP Your NLC coach wants you to get the most out of your partnership. Following the guidelines below will help you maximize the value of your coaching relationship. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT Coaching works best when you know what you want and can translate those wants and dreams into clear, specific goals. If you don't know what you want in your life, coaching sessions can help you begin to identify your desires. Remember, however, you only have six weeks; so identifying what you want to focus on is necessary for best results. TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE We are many challenges in life. The key to moving beyond them is to first, acknowledge them, feel them, then learn from them. Consider: What can you learn about the way you handle the hard stuff? How can you handle it better next time? You may have no control over the things that happen to you, but taking personal responsibility for your own life means choosing how you respond to those challenges, and accepting the consequences of your actions. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF You are a whole, complete person - Mind, Body, and Spirit. Taking care of one need, but slacking off in another, causes imbalance. To bring balance into your life, establish the habit of doing at least one thing to nourish you mind, body and spirit, each day. TRIPLE YOUR LEVEL OF WILLINGNESS Your NLC coach will encourage you to expect more from yourself. They will ask you to venture beyond your current comfort zone; to push the envelope farther than you have in the past. Your coach will ask you to be willing to experiment with fresh approaches, and to be open to redesigning those aspects of your life that you are able to. This will create the momentum to reach your goals more rapidly and efficiently. Some of the things your NLC coach may ask you to do include: Experiment by trying new things Question your current assumptions Remove sources of personal stress Seek support in handling a problem Set larger goals Raise your personal standards Eliminate "toxic" people and events Do play work between sessions Treat yourself better
6 New Life Coach Inc. COME TO YOUR COACHING SESSION READY TO WORK Your coaching call is an investment in yourself and your future. Make the most of that investment by being prepared for the session. THE COACHING CALL As you gain momentum toward your goals, you will have a lot to share in each session. To make the most of the limited time, your coach may suggest you choose up to 5 things to discuss each week. Here are some suggestions for you. HOW YOU ARE FEELING What was your greatest accomplishment in the last week? What breakthroughs, shifts, or "AHA!" moments did you have? What skill did you develop or master since last week? What, if any, "BUTS", got or are getting, in your way? What is your biggest concern at the moment? In what ways is your project progressing? Talk about problems you encountered and how you handled them. What is the next goal you want to work on? What will you commit to do by the next session? AFTER THE CALL Make notes of any commitments you made Revise your goals, target dates or plans as necessary Get ready for another great week!
7 New Life Coach Inc. Important Information You Need to Know 1. You, the client, will do most of the work; not the coach. Sometimes clients think that the coach has all of the answers, can tell them exactly what to do, or should make the client do things. That is not the function of the coach. 2. Your coach s job is to share observations and give feedback; not solve your problems. You are responsible for finding solutions to your own problems. Your coach can share wisdom, action steps, counsel and advice, but cannot do it for you. 3. If you don t feel your coach is providing the appropriate help that you need, it is your responsibility to discuss the issue with them. 4. Your coach s job is to ask for more than you can reasonably do. They will consistently ask you for more in an effort to keep you thinking of possibilities. You can always accept, decline or negotiate. 5. Your coach is your success partner, not your higher authority or taskmaster. Your coach will encourage you to take actions, however, the best coaching occurs when you take the initiative. 6. Your coach works with you as a whole person, not just on the situation or goals. Your coach will need to talk with you about who you are, where you come from, where you are at the present time, how you think, assumptions you ve made, what motivates you, etc., in order to assist you solve problems and set goals. 7. The value of coaching isn t based on how much time is spent in coaching. Great coaching can occur in 60 seconds when the right thing is said in the right way, the client leaps forward. 8. Your original goals may change or be abandoned. Sometimes we really don t know what we want. It s better to go with the flow and let your real goals emerge during the coaching process rather than knowing them all in advance. 9. Sometimes your coach will need to work on strengthening you, instead of encouraging you to accomplish something. Goals are reached more quickly and easily when you have a strong personal foundation. Personal growth takes time, but lasts a lifetime. 10. The coaching session isn t the most important part of the coaching process. Having great sessions between a coach and the client is important, however, it s not the quality of the session, but it s how well the client integrates and uses what was covered between sessions.

12 THE NEW LIFE COACH 6-WEEK ACTION PLAN FOR CLIENTS Six-Week Action Plan The NLCI six-week action plan will help you clarify your goal(s) and help identify steps you need to take in order to accomplish them within six-weeks. This process provides a method by which you and your coach can measure your progress. It is recommended that you give yourself enough time to think through your goal(s) before rushing to finish the paperwork. We do suggest that you try to complete the plan by the end of your third coaching session, as this will give you time to work with your coach and take the necessary actions steps to accomplishment them. The questions you will be asked are designed to inspire and motivate you. If you are 100% committed to and capable of taking the necessary steps, you can realize your goal by the end of the six-weeks. How the Action Plan Works: 1. The questions are designed to make you think. You may not answer all of them immediately. If you will thoughtfully think through them, you will realize better results. The more thought you devote to your answers, the more complete your plan for accomplishment will be. 2. Use one form for each goal you are working on. It is best to work on one goal at a time before implementing the same process with each additional goal.
