Basuki Thermal Oil Heater offer a complete range of clean coal technology covering fuel handling, fluid bed combustor, ash removal and air pollution control system. Standard models with capacity from 400,000 kcal/hr to 6,000,000 kcal/hr, using variety of solid fuels. Other capacity are available on request.
3 2 clean coal technology basuki heater using latest coal firing technology Fluidized bed combustion is undoubtedly one of the most attractive means of burning coal due to its various advantages. Basuki coal fired thermal oil heater consist of a coil type heat exchanger located above a fluid bed furnace. Coal is burnt in a fluidized bed combustor. This produces minimum pollution and can ensure complete combustion of the fuel. fluidized bed combustor can burn a variety of solid fuels such as wood waste, rice husk, palm shell and coal in same unit. Effective mixing of fuel and air in the reactor makes it possible to obtain complete combustion with less excess air. Fluid bed combustion and effective secondary air distribution results in complete combustion of coal and produces less carbon monoxide (CO) and almost white smoke. Due to low temperature operation of the fluid bed combustor ( about C) low amount of NOx is produced by avoiding oxidation of nitrogen compounds contained in the coal. For high sulfur fuels, it is possible to trap the sulfur in the bed and avoid costly de-sulfurisation equipment. Higher thermal efficiency can be obtained using bituminous coal due to low excess air and low stack temperature.

7 6 other advantages of thermal oil system Low Operating Pressure Thermal Oil systems operate at a maximum system pressure of 5 barg and can supply hot fluid at temperature up to 300 C. A hot water or steam system for this temperature will operate at higher than 60 bar pressure. Higher System Efficiency Thermal Oil heating systems give higher thermal efficiency than steam systems as there is no condensate loss. No Scale Formation or Corrosion The mineral oils used for the heating plant are non corrosive and are stable at the operating temperature. The heating plant can operate for long time (8 10 years) without needing change of fluid or system cleaning for scale, corrosion, etc.
8 7 other advantages of thermal oil system Low Maintenance Cost Thermal oil plants require lesser maintenance due to the closed loop operation and simple construction. Fully Automatic The entire heating plant from fuel storage, feeding, combustion and the oil circuit operates automatically to give continuous supply of hot heat transfer fluid to the process. There are adequate safeties to ensure a safe and reliable operation. No Need of Softener Thermal oil systems do not need equipment like softeners as required for water or steam system.
