Declaration of major/minors Candidates may first declare major(s) and minor(s) during the August pre-enrollment period before the start of the second year of study. Candidates must finalize their declarations during the September course selection period in the first semester of their final year of study. No further changes will be accepted afterwards. 2. Faculty Core Courses The following 4 courses are designated as Faculty Core courses (FCC): ACCT1101 Introduction to financial accounting, ECON1210 Introductory microeconomics, FINA1310 Corporate finance and a statistics course as prescribed in syllabuses. Candidates are not required to re-take Faculty Core courses where these courses form part of requirements of the second Major or Minor offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics. Candidates will be required to take an equivalent number of credits of free electives in lieu of these courses. 3. Double-counting courses Courses shall not be double-counted in the major or minor programmes offered by Faculty of Business and Economics, except for the Faculty Core Courses as listed under Note 2 above. Where a course applies to more than one major or minor programme a free or disciplinary elective (advanced level) must be taken in lieu of the overlapped course. 4. Majors and minors of the same discipline are impermissible combinations.

3 Notes to non-fbe students 5. GPA requirement for non-fbe candidates A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above as of August 31 (excluding Summer Semester) at the end of the second year of study must be obtained for eligibility to declare any major or minor offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics. For non-fbe students admitted to the second year of study of above, a cumulative of 3.0 or above after completion of four regular semesters of study at the University is required for eligibility to pursue a major or minor offered by the faculty of Business and Economics.. Courses cannot be double-counted, except for the Faculty Core courses as listed under Note 2 above.
