For three generations, it has been the foundation of our 40-year company history. Established in 1976 as a specialist niche provider, Magnet-Physik now provides specialist expertise, know-how, and high quality products made in Germany to customers from all over the world. Not only are our long-standing client relationships evidence of the quality of our products, but also of the unique quality of our services and customer support. As a manufacturer of versatile equipment in the fields of magnetization, sensors, and measuring technology, we are primarily focused on customized technical solutions for high-end industrial clients. 5 DR. ERICH STEINGROEVER In 1947, Dr. Erich Steingroever set up the ELEKTRO-PHYSIK company in Cologne. With the establishment of the company, specialized in coating thickness gauges, Dr. Steingroever laid the foundation for today s success of MAGNET-PHYSIK. DIETRICH STEINGROEVER The magnet technology division of ELEKTRO-PHYSIK was spun off in 1976, forming MAGNET-PHYSIK which is today a well-established company. Dr. Steingroever was supported by his son Dietrich Steingroever, who was initially the Technical Director, at MA- GNET-PHYSIK and then served as CEO from 1989 until PETER & ANA ULRICH In 2016, 40 years after the founding of the company, Dietrich Steingroever s daughter Ana Ulrich and her husband Peter Ulrich took over the management of the thriving family-run company. MAGNET-PHYSIK is also internationally successful and has a subsidiary in the USA as well as a sales office in Shanghai.

SERVICE Our aim is your satisfaction this is what we and our solutions represent throughout the world One of the first devices using magnetism, and literally pointing the way for the development of magnetic technologies, was the compass. Widely used in China in the 1st century AD, 1,200 years later the compass was also mentioned in the Western world. During the course of the industrial revolution, the demand for magnetic materials increased. Now, in our daily lives, we all use a variety of products where magnetism plays a role often we are even not aware of it. This is why you have certainly come across products that were developed with the help of our portfolio, like in your car or your washing machine. We support manufacturers of all kinds of products with a broad range of service competencies. 7 CALIBRATION Measuring devices are important instruments for quality control and are thus maintained and calibrated at regular intervals. Our calibration laboratory has been accredited by the DAkkS (German Accreditation Body) and is audited on a regular basis. MEASURING & MAGNETIZING Our laboratory is extensively equipped so that we can carry out measurement and material testing of all kinds of hard and soft magnetic materials. Furthermore, a variety of magnetizing instruments and impulse magnetizers of all energy classes and functions are available. FEM CALCULATIONS Cost-effective and fast project development requires accurate knowledge of the magnetic circuit. By using state-of-the-art calculation software, we are able to check your requirements in advance, and thus we can accurately perform calculations according to your needs in a static or transient way. In order to do this we use magnetic, mechanical, and thermal modules.

8 6. MAGNETIZING TECHNOLOGY Our impulse for energizing your magnets Ferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic materials, such as iron or nickel, have the property of spontaneous magnetization. In solids that are composed of such materials, the magnetic particles are initially randomly orientated resulting in no magnetic effect. Only when the magnetic moments are aligned in a uniform direction does the material produce a magnetic field that can be used, and a permanent magnet is created. This process is called magnetization. The alignment of the magnetic domains is achieved by externally impressed magnetic fields. To be able to magnetize modern permanent magnet materials, for example Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) or Samarium Cobalt (SmCo), very high field strengths are needed as well as appropriate magnetizing methods. MAGNET-PHYSIK can apply more than 40 years of experience in the production and application of magnetization devices of all energy classes and functions. 9 IMPULSE MAGNETIZERS In order to convert as much electrical energy into magnetic energy as possible, the capacity of the impulse magnetizer must be adapted to the individual requirements of the device. MAGNETIZING FIXTURES Our portfolio of magnetizing products includes solutions for axial, radial, diametrical, and multipolar magnetizing of permanent magnets, for example Aluminium Nickel Cobalt (AlNiCo), ferrite, Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB), or Samarium Cobalt (SmCo). MEASURING TECHNOLOGY MATERIAL PROPERTIES Our measuring technology for magnetic material properties customized to meet your specific needs Measuring magnetic material parameters is of utmost importance for both the material manufacturer and for the user. However, in order to adequately characterize and analyze permanent magnets and magnetic systems, special magnetic measuring methods are needed. The behavior of soft magnetic materials such as magnetic steel sheets or wrought steel, which can be easily magnetized, is different from the behavior of hard magnetic materials such as permanent magnets. It is for this reason that MAGNET-PHYSIK offers a diversified product portfolio of instruments for analyzing magnetic materials, and our PERMAGRAPH, REMAGRAPH and REMACOMP measuring devices cover the complete range for the characterization of soft and hard magnetic materials in conformance with international standards. 11 REMAGRAPH C 2000 J[mT] µ H[kA/m] PERMAGRAPH PERMAGRAPH is a measuring system to determine the magnetic parameters of hard magnetic materials and it meets the latest requirements. Our instruments are well-known for their quality and long lifetime. REMAGRAPH REMAGRAPH is a fully automatic, computer controlled station to measure the (quasi-) static hysteresis curves (DC) of soft magnetic materials. Measurements can be carried out on bars, strips and rings. REMACOMP REMACOMP is our line of measuring instruments which comprises automatic, computer controlled measuring systems that can determine dynamic (AC) magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials.

MEASURING TECHNOLOGY FIELD AND FLUX Our measuring technology for your labatory and manufacturing needs our measuring instruments work for you on site Analogous to measuring magnetic material parameters in our well-equipped measuring laboratory, it is often sensible and necessary to measure magnetic fields directly on a product or device. There can be wide variations in the properties of magnetic materials. This is why control measurements have to be carried out continuously in the product development phase, at the incoming goods inspection, and sometimes even during ongoing work processes in the production line. 13 FLUXMETER The Fluxmeter is used for measuring magnetic flux using measuring coils. Our Fluxmeters comprise a precision electronic DC integrator of high sensitivity and extremely low drift. GAUSSMETER Our Gaussmeter range includes hand-held devices, desktop devices, AC-DC modes, and peak value displays as well as analog outputs and digital interfaces. The instruments show field strength in Tesla, Gauss, or Ampere per meter. The price of all our Gaussmeters includes one standard Hall probe. REFERENCE MAGNETS Reference magnets generate a homogeneous magnetic field in an air gap and are used for calibrating sensors, Gaussmeters, Teslameters, and field measuring coils.
