The following are recommended retail prices. ABUS lock-chain combination The 6 mm square chain made of special hardened steel has a weight of 954 gram and a length of one meter. You can attach the lock laterally to the luggage rack with the help of a suitable transport bag. Can only be used in combination with an ABUS Amparo frame lock. 49 Ortlieb bag in FLYER design The Back-Roller Classic by Ortlieb is available in exclusive FLYER design. The bag can be quickly and easily mounted thanks to a simple holder system on most FLYER models. 139 (price for the pair, in green) Pletscher shopping basket This practical shopping basket is ideal as an addition to the Pletscher pannier system. It's recommended for transporting your belongings on longer tours too. 49 Pine crate The roomy pine crate with pre-installed 3-point adapter fits on all Pletscher System panniers. 28 Accessories Bicycle rack Uebler X-21S/X-31S. Tiny in size huge in transport The Uebler X-21S and X-31S have been specially designed for the transportation of E-bikes. The model X-21S transports two bikes with up to 30 kg each. The model X-31S can safely carry up to 3 bikes with a total of 54 kg. The light and compact coupling rack fits in almost every car boot. Thanks to the patented folding system the rear lights, bike rails and support frame completely fold in and down. 29 Glossary Battery FLYER trusts on the reliable original batteries by Panasonic and Bosch. All FLYER batteries contain especially developed E-Bike cell types and show the ideal ratio between capacity, performance and operating life. Security and life expectancy A Battery management system is integrated into the FLYER battery, protecting the battery against overcharging, undervoltage and overheating. A single cell monitoring system provides safe, reliable and healthy charging. As a result the highest possible life expectancy of the FLYER is maintained. Based upon experience, such a Lithium-ion battery can be charged up a thousand times. Volt, ampere and watt hours The operating voltage of the system is measured in volts [V]. The charging level or capacity is expressed in ampere hours [Ah]. The energy content and thereby the size of the "tank" is described in watt hours [Wh]. This is calculated as the product of operating voltage [V] and capacity [Ah]. Range The range depends on many factors. In addition to battery capacity, among other things the selected motor support, the geographical conditions, the road surface and the rider's weight and also the tyre pressure all play a crucial role. Charger Each FLYER is shipped with the correct charger for the included battery. This charger can only be used with the corresponding battery family. The FLYER Panasonic batteries and the FLYER Bosch batteries can be charged directly either directly on or off the vehicle. Motor Panasonic At the heart of the FLYER Panasonic is the latest Panasonic motor generation. The extremely compact and quiet 36V mid-mounted motor provides a directly powered chain wheel. The three-sensorconcept measures torque, cadence and speed leading to optimal and efficient support at all times. The result is a dynamic powerful performance. The rider has the choice of three support levels: Eco, standard and high. Bosch Active Line & Performance Line This shapely 36V motor with the characteristic small chain ring blends harmoniously into the design of the FLYER B-Series. The FLYER motor system from Bosch provides four support levels: Eco, tour, sport and turbo. This is limited to 6 km/h in the highest gear. The FLYER can comfortably manage its exit from an underground garage or steep passageway at the touch of a button. In the highest gear the FLYER can be accelerated up to 20 km/h. The type of installation depends upon country specific guidelines. Operating console (display) LCD Displays Two operating units are used for FLYERs with Panasonic drive. There's a side-mounted handlebar display and centrally-mounted handlebar display. The latter is removable and is complemented by an ergonomic operating console. The same applies for the centrally mounted Bosch display. All three displays are clear and user-friendly by design. Switching between the various support levels and activation of the pushing aid as well as calling up information couldn't be easier. The current speed is displayed as well as the average and maximum speed, day and total mileage, remaining capacity, range and the time in the case of the centrally mounted display. With practical USB support, mobile phones, smart phones and MP3 players can be charged during the journey. The FLYER is based on the centrally mounted motor. An optimal weight distribution and the low centre of gravity sets this concept off from the rest. The mid-mounted motor operates at all speeds and at all times with optimal speed range, maximum effectiveness and transmission regardless of whether on a slow incline, in low gear or at high speed. 29

30 The Nyon display intelligently linked-up Nyon is a small technical masterpiece with an enjoyable handling thanks to optimum ergonomics and looks. Thanks to the intelligent computer, you have everything you need for riding FLYER on board and ready: Navigation, travel modes, range of coverage, personal fitness data and more. Nyon is supplemented by the smartphone app ebike Connect and the online portal ebike-connect.com. Their combination provides a comprehensive and comfortable cross linking which is all about you and your FLYER experience. Lights The major part of the FLYERs is equipped with Busch & Müller or Supernova high-quality LED lighting systems. Most models deploy the proven daytime lights. This will make you even more visible. The power is supplied via the battery. Energy consumption is very low so that you may always ride with lights. The lights can be switched on safely and comfortably via the operating console on the handlebars. Tyres FLYER fully trusts the Schwalbe brand. Normally "non-puncture" tyres with minimal downtime are deployed. 100% protection is not possible, however. In very seldom cases and in particular when riding with deflated tyres, tyre damage can still occur. The FLYER sports models are equipped with lighter Schwalbe tyres. Brake systems Hydraulic disc brakes The FLYER sports bike series is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes. Alfine, SLX, XT and Saint disc brakes can be provided from Shimano, the new four-piston disc brake MT7 from Magura. Disc brakes guarantee the highest braking performance in all conditions. Hydraulic rim brakes The hydraulic rim brakes of the Magura are legendary. They set themselves apart by fine control, high braking performance, low wear, and easy maintenance. The Magura HS33R is predominantly deployed. The HS11 is the "little sister" of the HS33R. Luggage racks Most FLYER bikes are serially equipped with a pannier rack system from the Swiss company Pletscher or with a travel pannier rack by Racktime, developed in collaboration with FLYER. Information pertaining to extensive accessories is available from your FLYER dealer. Anti-theft protection ABUS frame lock The ABUS frame lock offers the basic protection for almost every bike! The practical frame lock offers an easy and quick protection against unauthorized use. ABUS U-lock The ABUS U-lock belongs to the classics in the world of bike protection, and it's not surprising. Massive material and no moving parts out of the locking mechanism offer toughest resistance. ABUS Plus battery lock system With some models, the ABUS Plus Cylinder system is used for the battery lock. Based on your Key-Code-Card, your personal FLYER dealer can order a simultaneously locking bike lock with high anti-theft protection, e.g. the ABUS Bordo lock 6015/90. The Plus Cylinder system currently is one of the premium high quality anti-theft systems. Comfort Speedlifter Twist Thanks to the Speedlifter Twist, the handlebar height is adjustable with only one touch. In such a way you may establish the optimal seating position. With an additional lever the handlebars can be turned through 90. This allows for space-saving transport on a bike rack of the car or in the motorhome. Countless FLYERs are serially equipped with the Speedlifter Twist. Suspension forks Most FLYER bikes are serially fitted with suspension forks depending upon intended usage. Suspension seat posts Almost all FLYERS are serially equipped or can optionally be supplemented with the back-saving suspension seat post. Coaster brake Additionally to the rim brakes, the coaster models are equipped with a coaster brake. 30

31 Vario seat post Reverb Stealth The smoothly adjustable RockShox Vario seat post is operable from the handlebars via a hydraulic trigger, thus increasing security (hands always on the handlebars) and convenience while mountain biking. The locking can be opened from the handlebar, the seat can be pushed and locked to the desired position with the bodyweight. The cable for the Vario seat post Reverb Stealth is laid invisibly within the frame. Suspension FLYER provides the RockShox Monarch and RockShox Monarch Plus for a perfectly tuned suspension. The additional compensating tank ("piggyback") of the RockShox Monarch Plus offers an even better cooling function keeping the suspension performance constant over a longer period of time, having a positive impact on longer and faster downhill rides. Frames High quality, hand-welded aluminium frames were developed especially for E-bikes. They are designed for high loads and optimised for their intended usage. All FLYER frames consist of "hydro-forming" tubes. Pipes are laid inside the tubes for optimal safety strength. FLYER bikes are available in a variety of frame sizes as a rule. So you'll always find the frame that's right for you. Hub gears The hub gear system is particularly suitable for everyday use in predominantly flat to hilly terrain. The gearing mechanism is protected from dirt and moisture inside the hub. The straight chainline is kind to materials. The gears are changed by twisting the grip shifter. While changing gears, shortly releasing pedal pressure is necessary. Gear changing is also possible when stationary. The following hub gear systems are deployed in the FLYER: Shimano Alfine With its 11 gears, the Alfine is more suitable for sports usage. It sets itself apart via fine gear increments. Rohloff This is the king of hub gear systems, a masterpiece of precision engineering. Bernd Rohloff from Kassel hereby validates real German workmanship. It's regarded by frequent riders as the ultimate in reliability and durability. The gear ratio is great, the graduation could not be better. The small gears allow for steepest climbs, and with higher gears you can take the most out of the FLYER. The Rohloff system sets itself apart from other hub gear systems by the concise switching process. For this reason we absolutely recommend an extensive test ride before purchase. Nuvinci and Nuvinci Harmony smooth hub gear system Nuvinci allows for smoothly changing gears. The electronically controlled Nuvinci Harmony Automatic is available as an option. Once the preferred pedal cadence has been set, the Harmony maintains an optimally steady gear ratio. Derailleurs In the case of a derailleur gear changing occurs by selecting a sprocket from the rear wheel cassette. Gear changing can also occur under load. Therefore, derailleur systems are most suitable for sport and mountainous terrain as well as for pulling a trailer. Due to changing chain positions, wear is higher and maintenance is more involved, requiring regular maintenance. The following derailleur systems are deployed in the FLYER: Shimano Deore, SLX, XT and XTR The Deore gear system is equipped with a 9-way cassette, the SLX and XT gear systems with finely graduated 10-way cassettes. With the Uproc 8.90, the new 11-speed XTR gear system convinces with a large total gear ratio. Shimano Nexus Standard, Premium and Coaster The proven 8-speed Nexus Standard, Coaster and nexus Premium are ideally suited for deployment in E-bikes up to 25 km/h. 31
