2 Natural Remedies: Essential Oils for Everyday Ailments These natural remedies with essential oils will help to alleviate many of life s everyday common ailments+ We ONLY recommend using Young Living Essential Oils as they are therapeutic-grade and will yield the results you desire. We are certain of their purity through Young Living s Seed to Seal Process and are safe for both you and your children. 3 How to Use Essential Oils There are three ways to use essential oils: Aromatically You can inhale essential oils directly from the bottle. You can put a drop of essential oil into the palms of your hands, bring your hands to your nose, and inhale deeply. You can diffuse your favorite oil with a diffuser, which releases the oils into the air. You can pour hot water into a bowl or cup and add a few drops of essential oil. Cover your head and bowl (in a tent-like fashion) with a towel, then breathe deeply and slowly (with your eyes closed). You can put a drop on your pillowcase before you go to sleep at night. You can put a drop of essential oil on a cotton ball and put it in your vents or fan.

4 Topically Put a few drops of essential oil directly on the part of your body that needs some support gently massage it in with your hand+ Some oils require dilution, as they are considered hot oils and may irritate the skin if used without a carrier oil like olive oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, coconut oil, or Young Living s V-6 Vegetable Oil+ Follow the dilution directions on the essential oil bottle label. Use your favorite essential oil as a perfume or cologne Internally Some Young Living essential oils are safe for internal consumption (check the label on the bottle to learn which ones can be consumed in this way) Add 1-2 drops of essential oil to your drinking water, juice, NingXia Red, almond milk, or smoothie. Add 1-2 drops of essential oil to your meals when cooking. Put a few drops of essential oil into a gel capsule and swallow with water. Add a drop to a teaspoon of honey.

5 Where to Apply Essential oils may be applied anywhere on the body, except inside the eyes or inside the ear canal. Citrus oils (lemon, grapefruit, orange, etc.) are photosensitive and can cause dark pigmentation or irritation if exposed to sunlight, so take care to avoid these before you go out into the sun. When unsure of where to apply, essential oils can always be applied to the bottoms of the feet. This will effectively deliver the benefits of the essential oils throughout the body, as there is a complete network of reflex points that stimulate all the internal body systems. It is recommended to dilute the essential oils with a carrier oil (such as coconut oil or olive oil) for children under 2 1/2 years of age. See diagrams below.

6 Minor Aches & Pains of Daily Life Minor Scrapes 1-3 drops PanAway essential oil blend 3-6 drops olive, jojoba, coconut, or V-6 oil (optional) 1 drop Lavender 1 drop Purification 1 drop Frankincense 1 drop Helichrysum Apply the PanAway to the sore area neat (without dilution) or with a carrier oil. Rub it in gently. Whether neck, back, or joint discomfort. PanAway works almost instantly. Helps alleviate minor muscle pain after exercising, bumps and bruises too. Apply oils immediately and directly on affected area to clean and alleviate bleeding and start rejuvenating the skin. These oils can be reapplied as needed as often as needed. Headaches Occassional Irregularity, Gas, Bloating 2-4 drops Peppermint essential oil 2-4 drops Lavender essential oil 1-2 drops Peppermint essential oil 3-5 drops V-6 carrier oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil Apply Lavender oil first then Peppermint oil layered on top to the temples, across the forehead, and back of neck. Put drop of Peppermint in palm, rub together, bring up to nose and inhale deeply. Avoid contact with eyes. SEVERE Headache: You may also put a drop of peppermint on your finger and apply to the roof of your mouth. Mix Peppermint and carrier oil together. Rub directly on belly, providing a gentle self abdomonial massage, in circular motion around the belly button. Avoid contact with eyes. Peppermint oil is a go-to oil for occassional irregularity, bloating, and to support the digestive system. Not for chronic constipation. V-6 is Young Living s food grade vegetable oil complex, used to dilute essential oils before applying to the body.

7 Heat Conditions, Hot Flashes 2-4 drops of Peppermint essential 1 teaspoon olive, jojoba, coconut, or V-6 oil (for use with children) Rub a drop or two of Peppermint oil on the soles of your feet to draw the heat out of the body. For Hot Flashes, apply to the back of the neck for instant relief. Use with caution and always dilute the Peppermint oil with a carrier oil - for children under the age of 6. You can re-apply the Peppermint oil when needed to keep the heat down or to keep the hot flashes away and be comfortable. Everyday Sniffles 1 drop Thieves essential oil 1 drop Peppermint essential oil 1 drop R.C. essential oils Bowl of hot water (inhalation) 1 teaspoon coconut oil (topically) Mix oils together in bowl of hot water. Bring head over bowl and cover with towel (tent). Close eyes and inhale deeply. You may repeat 3-5x daily. Once water has cooled, you can transfer to diffuser for continuous relief. Mix oils together with coconut oil in palm. Apply liberally across shoulders, on chest, lower throat and upper back. Can also be applied to forehead, cheeks and nose. You can also simply put one drop of peppermint in your palms, rub hands together, bring up to nose and deeply inhale. This will support to clear even the most "stuffed up" nose instantly!

8 Scratchy Throat Beverage Cup of Warm Water, Apple Cider or Almond Milk Teaspoon of Honey 1 drop Lemon essential oil 1 drop Theives essential oil Want a Throat Spray? No need to make your own! You can purchase Thieves Spray. Warm your beverage of choice slightly in a saucepan (don t bring to a boil), remove from heat, add honey and mix thoroughly+ Add essential oils and stir. Sip to soothe or scratchy throat. Sip throughout the day to support your immune system and alleviate discomfort. And/or you can open mouth wide and spray Thieves Spray directly to back of throat for instant relief. You may also put the thieves and lemon oil in the teaspoon of honey and take right down if you want to sip as a beverage. We recommend a combination of all protocols for maximum relief. This tasty drink satisfies everyone from 5 year old to adults! The Clove oil in Thieves essential oil blend will provide a numbing effect Natural Chest Rub Seasonal Discomfort 1/8 cup beeswax ½ cup olive oil 8-10 drops Thieves essential oil 8-10 drops Eucalyptus essential oil 6 drops R.C. (optional) Pour olive oil and beeswax into small glass jar that you will use to store it. Place jar into a small saucepan with water half way up size of jar, put on low heat allowing beeswax to melt. Remove from heat carefully and stir in essential oils. Allow to cool before use. This can be applied directly on to your chest for instant. 3-4 drops Lavender Oil Apply Lavender to the cheek, around eyes (above brow and below socket) avoiding contact with eyes. This natural remedy supports proper nasal function. We recommend making a jar and keeping it on hand so it s ready when you need it!

9 Restless Sleep Snoring 3-4 drops Lavender essential oil 2-3 drops Peace & Calming essential oil 3-4 drops Valor essential oil 3-4 drops Valor essential oil You can apply by layering these oils across the shoulders and on the bottom of the feet for a restful night s sleep+ You may also put a drop of Lavender &/or Peace and calming on a cotton ball and keep on your pillow, or drop directly on your pillow for continuous benefit throughout the night. Apply oil across the shoulders and to the bottoms of the feet. Short, Sweet, Simple and it works! You may also diffuse the Peace & Calming or Lavender while sleeping. Monster Spray, Fairy Spray (for Children) Calming & Relaxing Bath Salts Distilled water 6 drops Lavender essential oil 6 drops Peace and Calming essential oil blend 6 drops Valor essential oil essential oil blend Fill glass spray bottle with distilled water. Add essential oils. Show your child how to shake the spray bottle before spraying around their room to keep monsters, boogie men, and bad dreams away! Or to bring in the fairies to watch over them while they sleep. Remind your child to shake the spray bottle before spritzing, to evenly disperse the oils. The Valor will help them feel brave and strong, while the Peace and Calming and Lavender will help them fall asleep quickly! 3 cups Epsom Salt 2 cups Baking Soda (no aluminum) 1 cup Sea Salt 30 drops of Peace & Calming essential oil or Stress Away essential oil Mix the salts and baking soda together. Add essential oils and mix well. Store the bath salt mixture in a glass jar in your bathroom. Pour a few handfuls into your bath as the water is running, and swirl with your hand to disperse evenly throughout the bath. Soak for minutes for a calming and relaxing bath. Essential oils and water don t mix so it s important to add the essential oil to a carrier substance (like Epsom Salts) so that the oil will evenly disperse in the bath water.

10 Rise and Shine Energizing Spray Have a Great Day Protocol 4 oz glass bottle with distilled water 5 drops Lemon essential oil 5 drops Peppermint essential oil 1 drop of Valor essential oil blend 1 drop Harmony essential oil blend 1 drop Joy essential oil blend 1 drop White Angelica blend Mix essential oils with water in spray bottle. Shake before use. Spray in your home in the morning to wake yourself up, and start the day off right! Lemon oil is uplifting and Peppermint is energizing. You can also keep your bottle of Peppermint oil on the nightstand and simply inhale straight from bottle upon waking helps many get off the coffee!!! Apply the drop of Valor to your wrist, and hold your other wrist to it. Apply Harmony to your solar plexus area (above the belly button). Apply the Joy over your heart. Dry Skin Lotion Poison Ivy Soother ½ cup coconut oil 10 drops Lavender essential oil 5 drops Frankincense 1 cup of distilled water ¼ cup of cider vinegar 9 drops of Lavender essential oil 3 drops of Peppermint essential oil 2 drops of Purification essential oil Mix all ingredients together in a glass container. Apply a small amount directly on affected areas 2-3x a day to promote healing and reduce itching. The combination of Lavender and Frankincense in this remedy coupled with coconut has been effective in soothing and supporting the most extreme cases of dry skin and will provide immediate relief. Blend all ingredients together well in large glass bowl. Soak washcloth in this solution and gently apply to area of skin with the poison ivy. Purification oil pulls toxins out of the skin and is known to take away the itchies! Peppermint will work to dry the poison ivy and provide further relief.

11 All Natural Bug Spray Bee Sting/Spider Bite Relief 5 drops Thieves essential oil 5 drops Lemon essential oil 5 drops Purification essential oil 5 drops Peppermint essential oil 5 drops Lavender essential oil 1 oz. Distilled water or Almond oil Put essential oils in an empty spray bottle. Add the water. Shake well and spray on your body and clothes as needed. You can also make this in a base of almond oil (instead of distilled water) if you prefer a bug lotion to a spray+ You may have to apply more often than a commercial CHEMICAL-based bug spray... but isn't that a good compromise to make in order to avoid exposing your skin and respiratory system to harsh, toxic chemicals? 1 drop Lavender essential oil 1 drop Purification essential oil blend 1 drop Basil essential oil Apply these oils directly to the bite or sting as needed until discomfort subsides. Basil helps to neutralize the sting or bite. Cool Misting Spray Over-Exposed Skin Soother 5 drops of Peppermint essential oil 16 oz Glass spray bottle Distilled water 1 Tablespoon coconut oil 2-3 drops Lavender essential oil OR Young Living s Lavaderm Spray Fill the spray bottle with distilled water and add the peppermint oil. Shake well and mist this spray on the back of your neck, chest, and anywhere else that s overheating! Kids love to apply this misting spray to cool themselves down on a hot summer day. Avoid spraying the eyes or rubbing the eyes with the peppermint! It won t do harm but will sting. Combine the coconut oil and Lavender oil. Rub on any over-exposed areas for instant relief.
